Maybe a bit of this too

I think that the Indigo Girls are a very Delta band. I love this song.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

The melody to this song, Alegria, has been stuck in my head the last two days.
Oh, to find you in dreams - mixing prior, analog, and never-beens... facts slip and turn and change with little lucidity. except the strong, permeating reality of emotion.

the colors of the wind song from Pocahontas is kind of like getting some Ne+Fi thrown at me.... it's pretty.
but that was on my mind even before I started to watch Pocahontas

Nessun Dorma keep appearing in my playlists. Which got me looking it up on YouTube, which lead me to listening to various old-time tenors. Some of them had pretty good voices. It's interesting how popular taste in vocal quality has shifted over time. I personally prefer the more classically trained voices, even if they're singing modern music. I'm not a music student, though, so I can't pinpoint the exact differences. But something about the richness and fullness and, hm, consistently-there quality, as opposed to quavery or thin or only half there.
I wish I could go back in time and listen to all the different kinds of music as it really sounded.

that's one thing I kind of don't like about modern day music, it seems very out of touch with natural voices.
I mean, there is something about this kind of music that seems so different, and appealing, from other things I hear in today's music:
But also, yes, many years and centuries, ago, too. . . .
You mean like this one? (Ignore the commercial in front of it please)

What would be an example of modern day vocals that you don't like, that fit that "out of touch with natural voices" thing?
I think you and I are liking opposite things here. That guy's voice is pretty much not what I prefer (though it's not unpleasant in it's own way). I like the well-trained voices, which is not what is "natural". It takes work and effort and practice to get classically trained voices.

I wasn't trying to use the Grocce video as an example of a classically trained voice. I was trying to post a video of a more natural situation where it's simply one person signing with a guitar, without things being super-produced in studios.
But I see how what I wrote could be confusing.
I think that song is pretty, but it's not 'natural'
We're on different pages. But it's not important.
This song reminds me of some things here...
You live inside a dream
Everything tastes so sweet
As long as it agrees with how you feel
You're dancing in your sleep
'Til all the eyes that look at me
awaken your anxieties
You're so afraid, so you try to break me, yeah
I don't want to care
And I don't want to hate
And I don't want to see you fall too far away
All because of fear
'Cause when you're afraid
You lash out at me
When you say all the things that you never meant to say
And try to break me
But in the end, what leaves you broken
In the end, makes you better, yeah
Your face looks so green
When the sun is shining differently
And you're standing in the shade
'Cause face to face you're sweet
Like candy sticking to my teeth
But underneath so damaging
There is no strength in trying to break me, no
I don't want to care
And I don't want to hate
And I don't want to see you fall too far away
All because of fear
'Cause when you're afraid
You lash out at me
When you say all the things that you never meant to say
And try to break me
But in the end, what leaves you broken
in the end, makes you better
Yeah, I don't want to hate
I don't want to be broken
I don't want to hate you
I don't want to hate
I don't want to be broken
I don't want to hate you
I don't want to care
and I don't want to hate
and I don't want to see you fall too far away
All because of fear
'Cause when you're afraid
you lash out at me
When you say all the things that you never meant to say
and try to break me
But in the end, what leaves you broken
In the end, makes you better, Yeah

Indeed.
that song reminds me of another one, although not quite the same in essence
An ISFp I know loves her voice, I find it a little annoying at times.
But the overall nature of the song is kind of nice.
How about getting off of these antibiotics
How about stopping eating when I'm filled up
How about them transparent dangling carrots
How about that ever elusive kudo
Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you thank you silence
How about me not blaming you for everything
How about me enjoying the moment for once
How about how good it feels to finally forgive you
How about grieving it all one at a time
Thank you India
Thank you terror
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you frailty
Thank you consequence
Thank you thank you silence
The moment I let go of it was
The moment I got more than I could handle
The moment I jumped off of it was
The moment I touched down
How about no longer being masochistic
How about remembering your divinity
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out
How about not equating death with stopping
Thank you India
Thank you providence
Thank you disillusionment
Thank you nothingness
Thank you clarity
Thank you thank you silence
yeah yeah
ahh ohhh
ahhh ho oh
ahhh ho ohhhhhh
yeaahhhh yeahh

EDIT: I don't like the Spanish subs on that song... and Drake isn't rapping in the song, why is it even featuring Drake?
