A huge piece of relational connection for me is accepting one another in our honest brokenness and failings. Love the other AND, just as importantly, allow ourselves to be loved.
I tell myself this doesn't mean to say what's bad is good or to have lax boundaries or to not put effort into repairs, because our mistaken choices (or non-choices) do cause harm. I hurt myself and you when I act out of fear, laziness, etc. or even plain weariness.
Good and bad, here you are, here I am. We want what's good and we don't always live in ways that bring it. That's how I am, anyway. And I see it in lots of others. This goal I have for us is to not always hide, to keep showing up - come and be loved. Find the healing and growth in vulnerability.
Because regardless of the good and bad in you in me, the strength and the weakness, you and I are lovable. And loved by a great Love.
