When will the folks finally learn that there is the timed shutter on the camera? You don't have to photograph the mirror image of yourself, with the camera in front, as well--we are not interested in typing your camera; we can get that info from EXIF data embedded in the picture

Another small hint--always avoid photographing in counter-light setting; not even fill flash helps in that case.
Yet another hint--if you have to make a conter-light photo, measure the exposure using spot light-meter targetted at the object of interest, and not the light fixture.
Third hint: if you don't like to use the timed shutter because you cannot compose the picture correctly (that's where cropping in post-production comes in handy), you can still mount the camera in front of the mirror, looking at you (i.e. not the mirror) and control composition by looking at yourself in the mirror. Then, you can even safely use flash, if lighting is suboptimal (which it generally is, wherever the vanity mirrors are to be found in usual human dwellings)
For the advanced beginners, there is a concept of white balancing--use it
For the intermediate users: there is also a concept of color correction--perform it
I can guarantee you, you will be amazed at the results.
