I think VI is about certain traits and behaviors which you have to recognize as relating to type, and others which you have to recognize as being irrelevant. Its too bad Sergei Ganin makes a big show out of VI but doesnt actually explain any of it.

I agree, but VI has nothing to do with photographs. It is to do more with motion.

A half-truth, although I actually agree with you. V.I. represents the identification of patterns and similarities in movement, speech, and general stylism of interaction with people. Baldly put, it is taking into account everything one can observe in a person's behavior, face-to-face, and correlating tendencies to a specific type. A lot of you have identified people you know in person as such and such type, and you are in essence, V.I.ing them. It might more accurately be defined as aural-visual-emotional-identification, and is mainly differentiated from pen and paper typing methods.

I don't usually believe in using still photography to type someone. However, I do believe that people of the same type will exhibit similarities in composure, expression, etc. The purpose of this thread was to determine to what extent those similarities translated into photographs.

Which is why there should be a video bank. But that would take a hell of a lot of work.

I have about a gig of video footage that was intended to be sort of a video bank, but they are almost all of various celebrities with types that are questionable, so I am not sure what good that would do anybody.

You know, we might consider making an account at Google Video and submitting clips... but that would be a lot of work, and most of us don't have the resources to upload candid films of ourselves, with the benefit of good quality sound and video.

Unless of course we found someone with a high-bandwidth connection that we could mail videos to upload to the internet.

I could submit a few good quality clips if you ever need any.

I could also upload things.

I don't think randoms clips are the answer.

People of all types need to be seen in the same circumstances to see how they differ.

I kind of see the resemblance. We've definitely got similar faces. But it’s nothing as shocking as that INTj guy and MysticSonic’s picture.

I think this holds up! What do you think?
Now you must explain to me why ESTps have an aversion to standing straight in pictures... it's odd... but cute!

My p-ness always stands straight for cameras.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

Mine does not. I have a real issue look into the camera. I guess that might be why I always look so far away, either that, or because I am.

We probably just don't feel like switching positions at the time, so we lean over to get in the camera's focus.

Either that, we suck at holding the camera straight, think it looks cool to be sideways, or don't stand straight in the first place.
Does this mean we can VI ESTps immediately in still photos because they will be at an angle?

My boyfriend does it too... I like these little quirks

Auvi, Maria looks nothing like the ISFj pic you put up.

I just added the new Gilligan pic.

Joy, what type do you want to be listed under and what picture do you want me to use?

Oh, and if anyone's types have "changed" since the first post was made, let me know.
