    Default Are irrationals meaner?

Although I've heard the whole logical/ethical shpeal, I wanted to ask about rationality/irrationality. My hypothesis from experience is that irrationals on average come off as meaner to others than rationals do, possibly due to manner aspects.

That doesn't mean that if you're an irrational you are necessarily a mean person, or if you are a rational you are necessarily a nice person, since I'm speaking on average.

    Discuss.

maybe they come off meaner because they're not as closely following expected, societal conventions? Is that what you're getting at?

Yes. Basically how they come across and what people would see and expect. For instance there may be more rationals that don't like when people act mean versus less irrationals.

okay so then I would probably say yes, irrationals may come across as "meaner" than rationals. but who cares? lol Only the rationals care.

I disagree that it's a general rule between rationals and irrationals. You could well be right of course, but I think there is too much variance in a population.

fwiw, to contribute, i've often found LSI's to be quite 'rude'.

Perhaps in a socionic sense it's just down to how the temperaments perceive each other. People with a dominant judging function tend to be able to better..(more easily perhaps could be more accurate) assimilate information from another dominant judging type, same with irrational dominant - irrational dominant.

I'll leave it open to consideration though fwiw, heh :-)

Well I am thinking that maybe both can be equally mean, but then again rationals may be more of the type to care about how mean or rude people come across and downplay or deny their own meanness.
