    Default Alpha vs. The World?

Do you think that alpha types are more predominant than types from other quadras?

I am a proponent of the "Everyone in the world divided by 16" theory. Therefore, no. Of course, there won't be exactly the same number, but I don't see much alphas around, or more than average.

Alphas have been the most prominent types IME. The J-subs, more so; delta J-subs seem the second most common.

I think they're probably just more noticed, rather than there actually being more of them. Just look at Kamangir's avatar. It's difficult not to notice a type if they walk around with bleached raccoon on their head. Alphas just stand out, and they seem to like it that way.

I am simply attracted to that form of expression, that is all. I do not walk around with a bleached raccoon on my head nor would I want to. People start to get a false idea of who you are when you look like that, along with the wasted hours of work you would do to get that level of respect.

You know what I look like Allie, you put up my picture in the member's thread.

lol. For whatever this is worth I made a point on choosing a very bright, edgy and powerful saxophone mouthpieces to play on my horns because it stands out, is very outwardly expressionate and can capture the energy and soul that I want to expel outward in the music I play.

I've generally noticed Delta instrumentalists being much more reserved in their presentation of the music and aren't looking for that same inciting kind of effect. So maybe there is something about Alphas being noticed more because of a certain outward expressiveness.

I can relate to this. I will say though, growing up I've lost a fair amount of that outward expressiveness. I no longer need the loudest stereo or nicest car like I did when I was younger. I seriously used to go around and be like, "hey everyone look at me..." in everything I did. Like wearing some red cleats with my yellow/white/black soccer uniform, A bright yellow Adidas shirt that I could flag a plane with, the bright white shoes with the black jeans...etc. I won't say I don't do it a bit now, but I'm very different with this than I was say... 5 years ago and earlier.

I relate to this in ways, although I am still trying to lessen the amount of showy, ostentatious, and generally explosive behaviors I engage in I wasn't as directly expressive as you, but I would make a point to deliver certain comments and general emotional effects in group settings with a certain pungency that varied between charismatic and repulsive, lol. I prided myself on individuality and real self-expression, yet disliked it when others directly expressed themselves, or went out of their way to. I wanted to control that aspect in a sort of subtle way, I guess.

I don't think Alphas (especially introverted ones) like "standing out" per se, it's just that we like doing our own thing, and don't care too much what society thinks of it.

That's because we are consolidating our numbers in order to compete with the high-power beta and gamma quadras. We have two divisions, and they are The A-Team and Delta Force ... And we are goin to kick yo a$$!
