Well, some types are of are, but some aren't so much. That was the idea though, that there are many different meanings for the word "love". Debating them is ridiculous. Talking about what makes a lasting relationship, on the other hand, isn't completely pointless.

I think love is more than an emotion, at the least it is emotions and probably a mixture of other stuff. I'm sure some poets could elaborate some more for me.

They like to talk about it. But then Celine Dion likes to sing about it.

Anything you experience derives from conciousness which is a product of the brain. Within those experience people try to explain discuss them.

Do you think free will is an illusion? If so perhaps we have no choice when we 'fall in love' which seems to be the case.

Not sure, im pretty damn tired right now. I think the last time i concluded that random events occur in the brain and so at the very least the future is unpredictable due so small choices like walking left or right etc. Hellothere came up with a pretty good argument though which i couldn't refute but cant remember it right now .

I do believe though that love is just basically a brain state that makes us feel good. I dont think its anything magical. Probablly some evolutionary glitch that allowed us to feel closer to other humans.

Yeah I think I remember that conversation somehow, I wonder if I remember it cause I posted in it somewhere.

Heh.. Food makes me feel good, and I love my food, is it really that simple?

Disclaimer: Does it matter? I still have to go to work and still wanna date females..and eat food.

And then there are scampi fries.. Crisps (potato chips) which should be banned. Yours sound a little tastier.

I agree with the commitment and stuff, but for at least a lot of people, the 'feeling' in some shape or form, still has to be there, even if it's like the way you get familiar and comfy with your favourite pair of old slippers, that is, you still want them around.

I'd say the feelings at that stage are a result of the "love" or lack thereof. They're not the "love" itself.

Is anyone else amused by the fact that a thread about delta stereotypes has drifted into whether or not love exists?
