... he can get stuck in his ways... very critical... if he's watching a t.v. show/sports game/whatever, he has a habit of seeing things his way and believing it even though he's obviousley wrong ("Look at that! Tha ball was a foot outside the plate! Come... jackass...")... likes to be thought of as sociable... sometimes tries to teach me annoying crap that I don't care about... if he's talking to somebody out in public, he doesn't know when to stop... worried about his health a lot... tells people how to take care of themselves... falls into routines... pays a lot of attention to the dog... likes other people to do things for him... sleeps a lot, but most of the time stays up late... enjoys teaching or helping people with school work... likes to invite people over the house, but feeds them too much... over spends or over buys pretty much everything...

He's a neuroscientist. He actually does a lot of his "work" at home, but I guess you could call him lazy, because, even while he's doing work, he's really not "doing" anything. I guess he'd be more on the "arrogant" side... and it's fair to say he wants to know a lot. My Mom complains about the way he spends things, and how he's resistant to her when she tries to "spark" an emotional reaction out of him (she's an ENFj...that's just what they do...). He makes a lot of friends with the people who he teaches/works with. I like how he doesn't turn into a screaming, emotional mess like some people.

We're fun to pick on because we think highly of ourselves... or at least think of ourselves quite a bit. We're also odd and inconsistant and whatnot. And right now there's some ENTp related drama, so I think people are bitching about ENTps more than usual. But then again maybe I'm just being all ENTp...

ENTPs are cool. I've got problems with them because their "stimulating kind of discussion" is my "how can anyone be so rude?!". I'm too sensitive, and they are... hm, more robust. My first boss was an immature workaholic ENTP, and that probably explains the rest. But since I know this forum I'm beginning to discover that ENTPs in general are different. His weaknesses were typical ENTP weaknesses, but that doesn't mean that every ENTP has them:
-- No "off" switch. If not working, doing leisure activities that are either active or achieve goals. Also loves to work quickly.
-- A tendency to think that this is normal and/or desirable.
-- Hence a certain tendency to rush people and pressurise them into working more. Or a tendency to despise anyone who can't keep up with him.
-- The practical jokes. The "poking fun at people". The "making controversial but stimulating statements." The "so maybe I was being a bit tough-minded, but I was right, dammit."
-- Coming into a situation and declaring "right, all this has got to be completely changed!"
-- Wanting to keep all the options open. "My best friend is getting married in March. Can I have the Friday off?" -- ENTP boss: "We'll see..." (Same conversation up to a few days before the wedding.)
But that was just him. He really was extreme. I still liked him; he usually did a great job, and he has a great sense of humour. He can be very abrasive and pushy, but all in all he's a decent kind of person. When my father died he closed the shop and attended the funeral. And he loves his wife and kids - totally adores them. When he's feeling well he has a "live and let live" policy and it's like you're team - he's not a controlling kind of boss. It's totally different when he's frustrated, but at least he's not like that all the time.
