I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. The actor who plays Merlin is definitely ISFp. Immediately reminds me of user Kamajama and actor/musician Bret Mckenzie...
The end is nigh
Okay, Hubs and I watched this yesterday. I am interested in figuring out the relation between the main character (Greg) and his friend (Rowley). I believe I have it narrowed down to eithe Benefit or Supervision.
I think Rowley is an ESFp. At first I was thinking Supervision made the most sense, with Greg as Supervisor, therefore making him an ISTj. But, a few reasons why I am inclined to reject ISTj for Greg's type...
a. Greg seems Extraverted>Introverted
b. While he is definitely an Se valuer, he doesn't appear to be very strong in it, which would explain why he keeps trying to gain popularity and power and keeps failing to achieve it.
c. At first I thought Fi Role or PoLR made the most sense, but Fi Ignoring is also a good possiblitiy.
So, ENFj really does look like a good match, and that makes Greg, Rowley's Benefactor.
Hubs and I both agreed that Rowley was pretty awesome, and that Greg was a jerk through most of the movie.
My life's work (haha):

Input, PLEASEAnd thank you
They are said to be duals. Except from that, I think he's really mature, willing to open up and listen. It's really moving to watch how to different individuals are good to each other, try to accept each other regardless of any flaws.
It's such a great scene.
Hell of a strange movie, but I liked it!
Moonlight will fall
Winter will end
Harvest will come
Your heart will mend
um. why is she breathing so hard? she comes a little neurotic... I've never seen the movie all the way through though so I don't know the character backgrounds.. haha it's weird seeing that actor in a serious role
I think this movie is a fair example of semi-daulity.

Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny
Kristen Stewart and Dakota Fanning
Aw they are so cute together.
I'd agree with kristen and dakota. Are you sure about gillian anderson and david duchovny? They might look great together but I'm still skeptical of their duality.
Kristen is some kind of Irrational

If you watch season 4 of hells kitchen you'll be able to observe Christina Machamer (iei-fe and winner of the series) and Corey (sle-ti) their interaction isn't always friendly, they have a kind of feisty relationship... they become closer and develop a friendship toward the end.
I almost forgot...
ABBA: Agnetha Fältskog (ESE) Björn Ulvaeus (LII)
It didn't last, but they are beautiful. So is the music.

News from Sweden:

Alex Jones 'debates' CNN's Piers Morgan - extiguishment? What is Alex Jones? Piers Morgan?
Socionics -
the16types.info
Piers is ISFp
Please don't deport Piers Morgan back to the UK. We don't want him.
So could Alex Jones be an SEE - maybe a E5w6?
Socionics -
the16types.info
Alex Jones, I suppose is good for attacking the 'establishment' or whatever but he is wrong about gay people. He said that homosexuals are trying to recruit ppl in society and other hateful, non-true things. So he doesn't always know what he's talking about either. I think he should "Listen more, and speak less" personally.
LMao... Alex Jones is a really fishy character. He has this seemingly fringe message, but gets widely televised and gets slots on these TV shows. But I still love watching him regardless
After seeing adrie's thread I ended up going on a Dr. Phil watching spree and typing a few participants out of curiosity on how much of their socionics prescribed information processing and exchanges would find a reflection in their interpersonal problems. My overall impression was that there was indeed was a perceptible influence that their types of information processing had on the quality of their communication. Rational-irrational was perhaps one of the most prominent divides and sources of misunderstanding in a family. However, how these people choose to respond emotionally to their problems (via anger, submission, or dissociation, etc.), and the temporary solutions and measure that they've found, were much less conditioned by their sociotype.
Benefit relations, IEI-LII (INFp-INTj)
Falsely Accused of Being a Deadbeat Mom?
Ex-husband: LII-Ti. Wife: IEI-Ni sp/so. New boyfriend: ESI.
His complaints about his IEI wife underperforming as a homemaker is a typical complaint that LIIs have for IEIs in benefit marriages, when IEIs with their introversion and weak sensing don't live up to LII's unconscious expectations of an ESE.
Benefit, SLI-ESI (ISTp-ISFj)
Should I Marry My Controlling, Alienating, Jealous Fiancé?
Tiffany: SLI-Si. Lawrence, her fiance: ESI-Fi
He is trying to protect her from making poor choices and associating with 'bad' in his view people (Gamma -Fi), while she thinks that he is overdoing it, trying to fix problems that aren't there, and pushing her down (ESI's leading -Fi has too strong of an effect for SLI Fi h.a.). He feels like he is the only one who sees all the 'lies' and the problems within her relationships, but that he isn't being heard or supported by anyone. To draw attention to these ethical problems, he tries to intensify and shake things up. While this immediacy and vigilance makes sense for the ESI-LIE dyad, it makes little sense to his SLI fiance who wants him to stop with these behaviors and chill out. This is classical benefit relations where the beneficiary sees the problems of benefactor on their hidden agenda and tries to help, but overdoes it, leaving both exasperated with each other.
Benefit, ESI-IEI (ISFj-INFp)
Last Chance or Divorce?
Troy: ESI-Fi. Sheesha IEI-Ni. Sheesha's mother: ? some extroverted type.
First couple - Benefit, ESE-IEE (ESFj-ENFp) ; Second couple - Supervision, LSI-SEE (ISTj-ESFp)
Bossy Husbands
Jim: ESE e8. Michelle: IEE-Fi.
John: LSI-Ti so/sp 1w2. Sally: SEE
Supervision/Benefit: ESI-IEE-SxI (ISFj-ENFp-ISxp)
Bipolar and Mentally Ill Moms
Bipolar girl: ESI sx/sp. Her sister: SxI. Their mother IEE.
The interesting bit here was the ESI girl saying that her mom and sister aren't understanding her and that they "team up" on her (them being her supervisor+benefactor dual pair). Imo she had more than a precedent to lie about her sister even though she claimed otherwise.
Quasi-Identity, SLE-LSE
Spies, Suspicions and Sexual Accusations
Him: SLE sp/so 6w5. Her: LSE sp/so (e9?)
He exhibits all the signs of an 'unhealthy' Type Six: Health Level 6: The Level of Overcompensation: Feel that their trust has been betrayed. Become stubborn, rebellious, blaming, cynical, short-tempered. Us vs. them mentality. Undermine others and their support systems by blaming and scapegoating (link), which seem to be the crux of their problems. However, she will have a lot of trouble dissuading him from his suspicions in a convincing way due to the nature of quasi-identity relations.
Mirage, EII-ESE
My Friend is Too Obsessed with Me
Jenda: EII-Ne Tracy: ESE-Si
Besides her obsessive personality, Jenda's behavior is partially due to +Fi leading function of type EII that moves her to try to get closer and closer to a person by any means and combinations possible, seeing their friendship as something that was almost preordained, and trying to reinforce their bond instead of letting go. From EII duality relations: "The partnership is perceived [by EII and LSE] as almost a predestined or predetermined event, as a kind of a starting point for sharing their life paths, in course of which both of them can positively influence each other's lives and their existing life conditions, which they create and improve for one another. ... The EII uses any opportunity to become close to others and introduce positive notes into their relations ... Towards this goal, EII's creative manipulative intuition of possibilities comes up with a myriad of approaches and techniques. Evolutionary orientation encourages them to strengthen their existing bonds. ... Quite frequently Dostoyevsky ends up imposing his/her friendly and welcoming attitude and services on other people in the process."
Various intertypes:

Supervision, ILE-LSI (ENTp-ISTj)
Baby after Breakup
Meleah: ILE-Ne sx/so. Greg: LSI sp/sx. Greg's new gf, Alex: ESI so/sp.
Lots of asymmetry in this relationship. In addition to being his supervisor in socionics, she is also of his 'upstream' instinct stacking i.e. similar to benefactor to him. She feels like he is a comfortable 'fall-to' guy, but that in general he is not "on her level", and in her FB break-up message she was very clear about this: "...You were right about one thing, you are not good enough for me, and you will not ever be good enough for me."
Supervision, LSE-SEI (ESTj-ISFp)
Disruptive Daughters
Kim, mother: LSE 7w6. Kaitlyn: SEI 4w3. Step-dad: LSI e6.
Discussion - http://www.the16types.info/vbulletin...of-supervision
LSE mom: "The truth is neither one of us wanted it this way. ... It's mostly for me, it's out of fear that if I don't stay so connected with her and so on top of her, she is very destructive and reckless and makes poor decisions, that if I don't keep tabs on her and keep track of her, that something really bad is going to happen. I'm afraid. I do it to make myself feel better, but I also do it to protect her so that she doesn't get into something where she is in way over her head. Because she gets herself into these situations."
Supervision, LSE-SEI (ESTj-ISFp)
Lying, Spending Spouses
Him: SEI-Fe 3w2. Her: LSE 1w9.
After doing service in the military (pt 6 stabilization of pt 3) he needed to find employment elsewhere, but he didn't feel like he could live up to his own and his wife's expectations (supervision marriage) so he created a very elaborate bubble of lies of holding down good jobs, while in reality spending his time idling about and sleeping in his car (3 disintegration to 9).
Supervision, SEE-EII
Forgiving the Unforgivable
Mother: EII-Ne. Karina (the louder sister): SEE-Se. Marita: SEI-Fe.
What's interesting about this video is not so much the supervision aspect, as the blinding effect of their mother's +Fi that was blocking out any negative information, instead turning it into something neutral or positive, in order to create harmony where there could be none; for example, by asking her daughters to apologize to their molester in a belief that this will somehow mend and improve everything + 'aristocratic' regulation of relations was evident here. Her SEE daughter is much harsher in trying to get through to her mom than the SEI girl.
Supervision, EIE-ILI (ENFj-INTp)
Abused Wife or Abused Husband?
Ron: ILI-Te so/sp. Marie: EIE-Fe sp/so.
At first he seems crazy ... then it becomes apparent why he's so irritated and upset.
Supervision, LII-IEE (INTj-ENFp)
"My Ex Won't Stop Videotaping and Posting Our Out-of-Control Son's Tantrums"
Amie, mother: IEE-Fi. Chad, her ex: LII-Ti.
Jayden, their son: IxTx possibly ILI or LII, which becomes more evident at 33:30
Amie's daughter: ESE.
Not much intertype relation specific here, except for their divorce perhaps, and the fact that in conversations her ex Chad out-argues her while she seems to shut down.

I only watched the first part of the 2nd video. 1st one looked too depressing and then the 2nd was enough!
Where did you get your typing ideas? I am curious. Bipolar girl does not seem like ESIs I know, so I wonder what it is that makes you think ESI? Also the SLI sister - why SLI? I would expect SLI to be way more stoic in this interview, even if upset. Also why IEE? I don't see that, however her face an mannerisms are just like an ESE I know (but not saying that makes her ESE). But none of what she said gave me not any kind of Ne impression... so, why IEE?
It seems hard to type people in such a non-normal crisis situation. But I have other thoughts than typing. Bipolar girl is an emotional manipulator and she has no conscience, that is why other than her emo/crying act she is calm, self-possessed. The other two look like they have been through the ringer; completely battered by the tornado of living with "bi-polar girl" (who Phil thinks is maybe not bi-polar). She has problems yes but also moral ones - she is spoiled and a practiced manipulator who demands center stage. The clip from home showing her yelling at a boyfriend on the phone to do what she wants "or else" shows what the sis and Mom have to live with day and and day out.
What a nightmare.
Eliza, I typed her as ESI because she is very similar to a girl I knew of this type. While this girl didn't have any disorders, when she couldn't see how things were going due to weak intuition, she felt like everyone was spiraling out of her control she could send out a strong emotional impulse to "shake up" the situation and rally the people around her to try to get them to pay attention. In this manner ESIs are similar to EIEs. Stratievsakaya has mentioned that ESI will create conflicts to find out how things stand. As for her sister not being "stoic enough" for an SLI, she is a girl and so she won't have the same manly stoicism as some of the male SLIs.
Couple more videos I've come across where the types were more or less apparent.
Mirror, LSI-SLE (ISTj-ESTp)
Good Luck Fixing Me
Him: LSI-Ti 1w2 Her: SLE-Se
Activity, LII-SEI (INTj-ISFp)

Activity, LSE-IEE (ESTj-ENFp)
A Violent Love Intervention
Him: ESTj-Si Her: ENFp-Fi sp/so
Beside the fact that this guy has major anger issue, in terms of types, her being of irrational type may be feeding into and blowing up his distrust and suspicions, while he, as a rational type, attempts to tighten his control over her.
This part of LSE-EII duality description seems very applicable to him: "Without taking such advice into consideration, ignoring verbal and emotional and relaxing effect of the EII, the LSE lives in a state of constant strong nervous tension."

35:30, "Good Luck Fixing Me". What a poignant moment for this man, "To be loved", the pathetic hidden agenda. Up until this point his sins and faults are laid on the table and Dr. Phil STILL offers him a hand, offers him help. This LSI man is touched. I really like the wrap up at the end.
Gosh Silke, these are pretty cool.
