Her opening speech as covered by a news show

"In Full": Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, speaks at a GOP rally in Dayton, Ohio following her introduction by John McCain as his pick for vice president.

Her presence is much more commanding than McCain's!

Someone needs to tell him to stop fiddling with his ring/fingers in that last video.

She's a consensus leader like Obama. If they'd nominated her instead of McCain, it would be a race.

I think she's a hedge against Hillary, personally.

That brilliant glaze in her eye speaks EII to me.

I can't imagine too many Hillary Clinton supporters voting for an anti-abortion conservative candidate like that. I think they chose her because McCain is more to the center than much of the Republican base and they wanted to make the more conservative voters happy with a very conservative candidate. I can see them wanting to appeal to conservative women, but I don't think they would vote Dem. anyway. Maybe they were afraid some conservative women wouldn't vote for McCain (maybe just not vote at all) because he left his first wife for his current one? Maybe this is to appease them? But there are plenty of very conservative potential candidates who have more experience, and probably even conservative women with more experience. I disagree that it's a brilliant choice.

I also think that Umbridge is a caricature of an unhealthy ESE. Which makes sense as JK Rowling is a Gamma NT.

I heard Palin went back to work three days after her baby was born? That does strike me the wrong way, but it wouldn't sway my vote. Not that an ultra-liberal like me would vote for her in the first place. I think it's unfair and bad for women in general to expect all women to be stay-at-home moms. First, it's not the best choice for all moms - not everyone likes to stay at home. Second, that expectation limits our opportunities and I hate anything that limits women's opportunities.

So, this is what it has come down to in US elections.

An ESI-ESI ticket versus an EIE-EIE ticket.

If you folks want more diversity in the types running for president, you'll have to go for a major reform in the way parties choose their candidates.

    it's almost comical, isn't it.

I agree with you. I don't see those changes happening any time soon though.

Palin is probably EIE. Read this article, and all becomes clear.

Take note especially of the end of the article:

"She can walk up to people and quickly have a perception of what they want her to be, and she will instantly be that person."

Persily and Chase, who do not know each other, use the same word to describe Palin: chameleon. Both also use similar language to explain how much she unnerves them.

Chase says: "I admire her, she has boundless energy and great determination. But the idea that she could be the leader of the free world scares the hell out of me."

Something about her is very appealing. She's so stupid it's almost cute.

aaaaah, I don't know why but for some reason I like her... maybe it's because she seems bright and personable... like less formal, except it's okay to be less formal... she comes off as strong, but in a warm way.

I don't think McCain is SLE

I could see him as some sort of INFj, or some non-SE ego block person. The difference in stage presence seems rather dramatic. I actually didn't get much of an ESI vibe from McCain in that video, esp standing next to Palin.

To speak bluntly, McCain seems cuter.
Palin seems more like she'd actually come after you and shoot you, or bust some nuts.

Yes, I know McCain was in the military. But it does seem to be some sort of difference between the two.
