I haven't read this whole thread, but just wanted to say that I don't think there is anyting wrong with adults smoking weed. It's not good for the brain if you get stoned every day, but taking just a few hits throughout the day/week, IMO, taking good for many people.
The only reason that marijuana was criminalized was because of lobbying from the paper industry, and the main reasons it's still illegal are:
1) Lobbying from pharmacudical companies
2) Politicians use the issue as part of their marketing of their product (themselves) and many people think it's wrong because it's illegal...
I'm sorry, but this ENTp girl needs a much better reason than "it's illegal" to not do something. No, I don't smoke anymore (except on rare occasions) because I see my brain as my greatest asset and it works better when I don't smoke (usually).
I can see many flaws in the above argument.
I agree. For one, marijuana is expensive. Having an addiction that is expensive is not good for anyone. Secondly, it's a crutch. Having and needing a crutch to get through life when you could get by without it is never good. It breeds greed. If you get ahold of one, you want more. That is the principal of Capitalism.I can see many flaws in the above argument.
And it's psychoactive. Getting hooked on any kinds of drugs, even medical ones, is never good.

The truth is Cone, that cannabis can be even more readily produced than tobacco if it were legalized a pack of marijuana cigarette would likely be more inexpensive than the more harmful poison filled tobacco ones. It is also a very useful plant it can be used to make fabric and feed livestock and many other things aside from its medicinal qualities. I almost forgot to add that marijuana is not an addictive substance. Yeah, it should be legal but it never will be because of the effect it would have on the economy. MmmHmm. But that is just my opinion, and I'm not even a druggie anymore.Originally Posted by Cone

Weed is not addictive to most people, especially when used in moderation as I suggested, and
When used in moderation, weed it not expensive (less than $20 a week, and that's for high grade stuff and sharing with another light smoker), and it is not a crutch. If someone is getting totally stoned, then yes, perhaps it is. But if they are not... then how is it any different than eating chocolate, using aroma therapy, or watching 3 hours of TV (which IMO is even more mind numbing than 2 or 3 hits of weed a day, and that's even kinda a lot for the type of usage I'm talking about)?
Glaucoma. Marijuana can reduce intraocular pressure, alleviating the pain and slowing—and sometimes stopping—damage to the eyes. (Glaucoma is the leading cause of blindness in the United States. It damages vision by increasing eye pressure over time.)Originally Posted by Black Molly

I know someone with health problems and a terrible appetite (he's disgusted by food), and marijuana helps him eat. (Even with the increase in appetite his body mass index is still only, like, 17.) Who could argue with that? Can you think of any other appetite stimulant???????
Oooo I almost forgot about caffeine. I used to be a caffeine junky fairly much. I quit finally... you'd think it'd be easy to but it isnt lol.
The reason I bring it up is because I remember a study I read where caffeine was showing that altho it aided in breadth of activity that it hampered depth of concentration/memory. Thats somewhat similar to the E/I dichotomy but more on a superficial/stereotypical level. I wonder how our society would be different without caffeine? It really isnt needed.
First of all it is dirt cheap in Canada...I agree. For one, marijuana is expensive. Having an addiction that is expensive is not good for anyone. Secondly, it's a crutch. Second of all it is psychologically adictive to people, not a physical addiction like nicotine. It becomes psychologically addictive when you smoke it as a crutch, and do it alone.
Marijuana breeds greed LMAO. The only thing it breeds is lazyness and passive behaviour.
I understand the American mindset for many is different down there. I am not condoning its use, because there is not enough education on it to the general public and this leads to definite abuse
However, if you are going to talk about this substance please be a little more informed.

with regards to caffeine, it makes me more alert, but more nervous in interacting with people.
Ok, sorry, I wasn't very informed about marijuana. I won't argue that way anymore.
But tell me one thing: why do you use marijuana?

I dont any more, but it is more of a cultural thing here in Canada, and is becoming increasingly accepted.
I do not use it because of professional reasons...
Charges are not usually even laid on you unless you are driving intoxicated by it or you have 15 grams or over.
You just have to remember to use it for social reasons, occasionally, and like you said, definitely not as crutch. The moment you stop your problems will return.
I could write a thesis paper on all of the reasons that I believe marijuana should be decriminalized. But rather than going on that rant right now, I'll just direct anyone interested to the NORML website. It's not exactly unbiased, but it is a not-for-orfit organization with a lot of good information. Read the links to the pages about medicinal, industrial, and personal decriminalization. They make many good points about how ineffictive and harmful the last 60 years of marijuana prohibition have been.Originally Posted by Cone

I know a few people who smoke it because of serious medical problems. Two of them can't afford health insurance, and both of them claim that it works better for them than Vicodin or Percaset ever did, and you would be hardpressed to find a person who will claim that daily pain pills are at all healthier than a couple bowls of weed a day!

MDMA definitely has the effect of making one "complete" or, if we speak in terms of socionics, self-dualised
My Fe and Si get deeply enhanced, and Se is no more point of constant doubts. I guess it has something to do with unleashing subconscious material that is often connected with weak functions like (F and S). This functions don't have high priority in baseline state, but MDMA temporary makes me see the whole world in this normally not very broad-minded aspects.
holy shit...
thats SELF DUALIZATION LOL
I Heard it has some long term damage if you over do it, and Ive seen this affect some people I know...

I don't use marijuana. I used to but it was never that great for me. I use heroin once or twice a month though. Some would like to argue with me that this is unhealthy and I'm going to get addicted or OD or something of that nature. No, I'm not. I've been doing this for two or three years. I'm knowable about the drug and I know my own limits. I also smoke Opium and Salvia Divinorum from time to time. There I have admitted to my "hard" drug use on a public forum! And I did not even log off to do it. Just think. Haha. Good God. Go educated drug use!
hahaha I've read somewhere that pure heroin isnt' so addictive and infact one can use it for years without any serious damage. Salvia seems like something worthy and since it has no bad effects I'll try it someday...

I don't see what's so important about the possibility of extraterrestrial life. It's just more people to declare war on.
EVERYONE PLZ CONTINUE TO UPLOAD INFINITE AMOUNT OF PICS OF "CUTE" CATS AND PUPPIES. YOU KNOW WE GIVE A SHIT!!
They're still not going to legalize any of this.

Heroin is something that has and will ruine many, many lifes.. I've seen enough. Hope they won't legalize it someday.
Most hallucinogens don't have any side effects. Salvia is prohibited only in three or four countries in the world including USA. It isn't addictive nor psychologicaly nor physicaly and most users give it up when they encounter their first bad trip which usually happens soon after they start to regulary smoke.

Yes. I know that Cone. Salvia by the way is legal. But just because something is against the law does not mean that I'm not going to do it. I'm stubborn like that. But I do hope that they wont legalize heroin because there are far to many stupid people in the world to deal with it.
lol Ive grown all sorts of salvia. Ive never even thought of using it haha. And here I thought it was purely aesthetic! :x
From all sorts only Salvia Divinorum has hallucinogenic effects.

I get mine at bouncingbearbotanicals.com. I really don't think of it as a drug because it's not pleasant at all. It's very scary. It is however enlightening.
Guess what? They just found a new subspecies of weed! My husband just told me about it as he was reading his latest New Scientist issue.
i took magic mushrooms last year and i could feel the damage i had done to my lungs from smoking. i didn't smoke a single cigarette all night. so it definately woke up my Si.
anyone else of a different type try magic mushrooms? and what unconscious function did you notice come to the fore?
i smoked that years ago and i hallucinated thinking i was a playing card. i was the queen of hearts. my life up to that point was all just an illusion and i thought it was the funniest thing ever that it turned out i was merely a playing card. i didn't know anything about types back then but when you think of it in terms of socionics we are all like playing cards, playing our roles. i thought it was the funniest thing ever to see the nine of clubs coming towards me. it was like, i was such a dumm ass for thinking i was a person.
it was one of the best experiences of my life, i felt really centred after it.
Curb your enthusiasm, humblepie.
