    wiki quote:
"a front page illustrated article profiling Phelps on the eve of the 2008 Summer Olympics, The Baltimore Sun described the hometown swimmer as "a solitary man" with a "rigid focus" at the pool prior to a race, but afterwards "a man incredibly invested in the success of the people he cares about".[16] Bowman told a Sun interviewer, "He's unbelievably kind-hearted", recounting Phelps' interaction with young children after practices.[16]"

    We're also considering SEI

SEI seems plausible. I might consider ESE-Si as well, but I can't really see LSE.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
    Whilst our laughter echoed,
    Under cerulean skies...

He reminds me of the guy who plays Jim in The Office. I think he has been typed by some as SEI, if I remember correctly...?

I like him too. He seems so approachable and unassuming. It would be awesome if he is ESTj. Dun think he is though.

I got the impression he meant IEE, since that's how you self-type, and nobody has suspected SEE for quite some time.

I could see Michael Phelps as SLI, and if I had to pick one type I'd say SLI, but I'm not completely settled. Part of me suspects INTj also... he strikes me as pretty clearly introverted, and logical.

Also as another weird comparison, he reminds me of Eli Manning. Same facial expressions, demeanor, etc.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

You're going to realise soon there is only 16 and no one has a place to hide.

based on previous interaction, i'm not inclined to. one thing i notice is that you seem to not know where you stand in relation to another. if no one says nothing, then you just keep on railroading them til they finally decide they do (ie. need to say sth). i have nothing else to offer, sorry.

Absurd is LSE... if you're delta you should be understanding each other better (like I do).

based on previous interaction, i'm not inclined to. one thing i notice is that you seem to not know where you stand in relation to another. if no one says nothing, then you just keep on railroading them til they finally decide they do (ie. need to say sth). i have nothing else to offer, sorry.
um, ok... based on our sparse interaction you've made an erroneous assessment of my intentions and purpose of communication. Just because you dont like me doesn't mean we're not identicals.

One piece of evidence i'd like to offer up to you, felafel in opposition to your assertion that i'm not an Fi type, since you seem to be blind to this, is that my closest, most meaningful, and most harmonious interactions of mutual understanding here have been with gamma and delta types. I'll name a few.... aixelsyd (wookie), slacker, ashton, absurd, traveler (raver now? ), UDP, CILi, Erk, robyn. Others i am not as close to (for whatever reason be it absence from the board or minimal chat use, or my lack of time lately to chat) whom i totally admire and wish we had more interactions and/or wish we were closer: minde, eunice, expat, park, Pa3s, FDG, galen, anndelise, woofwoofl to name a few i can think of off the top of my head. I also get along pretty well with a lot of alphas like hkkmr, kam, phthalate and often have a lot in common with them, though i feel we may not understand each other as deeply, and of course my interactions with betas have been the worst. So if you can reconcile this with me being a merry type, power to ya. Also, among the gammas, the ESIs tend to have the biggest problems with me, which wouldn't go against supervision.

Felafel frankly if you've been blind to all these connections between myself and various members of the community here, I question YOUR ability with Fi. Unless of course you think they are all mistyped, in which case it's a case of "you are all wrong! everyone is mistyped except me!" And if it seems like everyone is mistyped, it more often than not means YOU are mistyped.

But i'll give you the benefit of the doubt because i sense that you dont frequent this community much, but in that case you really have no basis to even have an opinion about me and my interpersonal reactions and interactions.

nah. incorrect. on both counts. i almost feel like i should help you.
help me with what?? I'm struggling to understand this... I am in no need of your help, believe me. I am a highly successful individual. If you havent accomplished much in your life, you should worry about your own self more than being so concerned about "helping" me..

as for the rest... *shrug*. i'll be isfj tho if you want me to. anything you want me to.
i dont have any opinion on your type. My post above was offering you some insights into my interpersonal relationships here, which you seem "blind" to. I just find it funny that you are calling me out on having a weak perception of interpersonal relationship when you seem totally unawares and oblivious to all of mine..
Not to mention a twisted view of my intentions towards others. Is that what creative Fi is, according to you?

fancy a lolly btw? i find it helps calm things down.
oh is that what people like you say when you're tongue-tied and have nothing useful to add...

as for the rest of your post, and communicating with you in general, it's rather like planting tree in a desert: never even takes up root (nevermind giving any fruit of ..well, anything).
um except your reason was a mis-assessment and sort of a non-reason.I dont railroad people if no-one says anything to me. I've been really busy at work lately so i dont have much time to spend interacting with people here the past few months. frankly i'm a little surprised that you would make such a flawed observation of my interactions with people.

As far as Fi, I am acutely aware of interpersonal distance, and i am pretty skilled in modifying it if i want to. That's what Fi creative boils down to and i am damn good at it if i do say so myself. All the vague handwaving stuff you're trying to put out as reasons, just doesn't cut it. So if you have any ACTUAL reasons for saying i'm not an Fi-type (other than you not knowing me well, or feeling like you want to help me) i'm all ears because i'd love to revise my understanding of socionics if it's off.

    Thanks.

    Friends,
If you suggest a different type for me, please come prepared with information. VALID information. I do expect this. A "you're not <blank> IE" will not suffice. "just because" will not suffice. "i can't explain" will not suffice. If you expect me to be convinced i'm a different type, you need to provide me with evidence that overcomes the overwhelming evidence i have so far of my current self-typing. I'm not going to just be like "oh ok... i'm ____ type" just because you say so, with some lame vague reasons (some of which aren't even accurate assumptions about me).

I'm sorry if this seems harsh to you, felafel (and some others here perhaps). Despite what things may seem here on the forum with me seeming nice and cheerful and bubbly and too emotional, I am a no-nonsense sort of person. I am rigorous about detail and accuracy. I demand that of myself and of those who i depend on for information.

I have gotten pretty good about knowing when people are giving me crap, and i dont accept that, so dont expect me to be "nice" about that sort of thing. Crap information is a perfect way to make yourself lose credibility in my eyes, and is one of the things i find EXTREMELY annoying, and a great way to make me irate.

    Thanks,
    WA

due to this, felafel would like to put it down on the record that yours truly here would have loved the opportunity to say sth like "you're right and i was wrong, i misunderstood". unfortunately for yours truly, that window of opportunity has been firmly shut on poor felafel's face. so, nope, felafel did not misunderstand a thing. neither is felafel in the habit of telling others what their intentions or motivations are or are not.

    good days ahead, i hope.

    ps: *sigh*
but that's exactly what you did though... you said that the way i approach interpersonal relationship is by railroading people until they respond to me. which couldn't be further from the truth and demonstrates a gross misunderstanding of my psyche on your part.
