Of those three types, I think IEI is least likely.

usage of Ti is too precise to be beta NF (has nothing to do with what you've been taught - it's natural information processing); confrontational style is more reactive than natural.

Reactive...as in, emotionally reactive? As in, a way that someone who is, by nature, logical would not be as prone to? Yes, I agree.
You can say whatever you want about what you think is or isn't "natural information processing," but as a matter of fact, I think my so-called "precision" with Ti is absolutely contrived, and something I easily lose confidence in, as I believe is partly evidenced by my ongoing type search. I have had to work at "being logical," and I've been pushed, in both positive and negative ways, by people like my more intelligent peers (notably my friends from my senior year in high school), some people here on the forum (particularly discojoe and tanehem), and some of my teachers throughout time, as well as the somewhat innate pressure I put on myself to appear intelligent, to improve my logical reasoning skills. I've taken classes in formal logic, advanced maths, and philosophy to hone my critical reasoning skills, and have made a point of being very "logical" in both my actions and, to a lesser extent, my beliefs, as a way of avoiding hyper-criticism that tends to diminish my self-image of being intelligent and general self-esteem; it has little to do with, as you seem to think, my need for external systems to be secure in, and more to do with my desired self-image as being one who is well-informed and rationally justified in doing and thinking the things I happen to do and think.

I can relate to that. All my life people assumed that I'm smarter than I really am. Since I never really acquired a good athletic gene (though which I'm learning I'm not as bad in them as I thought lol) I think by making me out to be 'smart guy' society tried to give my existence a point when there isn't any. And of course I'm perfectly content with that, but other people aren't.
However, I'm not all that smart. I have an average IQ. I make decisions with my emotions for better or worse. In school I've always felt a bit intimidated of the kids that were actually smart. I got Bs and As and a few Cs. I like kinda base, dumb things that are trite. I can't write good, complex drama and I constantly have to resort to cheap stereotypes just because my brain won't let me go there.
When I got a bad mark, people scolded me more than they would somebody more outgoing/popular. It was funny kinda like "WHAT ARE YOU A STUPID CAR MECHANIC BREEDER OR SOMETHING! YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE THE JEWISH MONEY MAKER INNOVATOR OF THE FAMILY, YOU FUCKING LOSER!" Of course I'm just using to embellish for effect they didn't actually say those things directly but that's how it felt and how it came across. =/
Of course this is why Expat and I clash so much too. I'm beginning to think that without a doubt, is my polr. I need more direct experience with this though.
I seem to be happiest the most with simple practicality however. Key word being simple and dumbed down. This is why alpha SF is appealing more and more to me.
Eh, I think you're just too...out-there, too intense, too blatant and stormy and provocative compared to most Alpha SFs. They just want things to be cool so they can chill out and be content; you seem like you want more than that. You don't focus on getting people to calm down or make them happy; you try to push people and make them react; you escalate things instead of trying to tone them down.

We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...

Hmm true. Though it's just more subdued in reality, of course. I mean I feel like I can't be as 'out there' as I would like sometimes.
I remember my first day in college I gave kind of an epic speech about how pissed I was at the women's prison system (best friend got locked up and I was still pretty upset about it) I think I was actually being a bit scary but I didn't want to be. I dropped that class so I didn't stick around to see socionics interactions played out, but it made me feel stupid and awkward afterwards, so... you are probably right.
LOL not SEI my friend.

Yeah. lol I just got a lil' confused there for a second since we both value . ;D
lol I think what I meant was I'm such a romantic that if something practical and 'wordly' isn't simple I'll shy away from it... people who are too 'real world-y' have always bugged me.
That statement was a bit more Delta than I intended at any rate lol.
So now since you don't love me I'm going to cut myself and use my own blood for lube.

Ethics may not mean emotion,
But a relationship is implied
When one speaks in general tendencies
On what general nature is belied
By action of natural reaction.
Though perhaps not always the same;
Those whose principle approach is ethics
Finds hard their emotions to tame
They see their internal states first,
And are likely to make them known;
Whether by rage, love, or disgust,
Their message they serve to hone
While our friends of the logical type
Take mainly a rational disposition
And try to refrain from such hype
That might take from their position.
Of these two, I am the former;
When a cauldron boils in my chest
I can scarce ignore the order
To use words as I FEEL best.
My compass is turned inward,
To the states that are rarely the same;
The object of my unswerving focus
Is the rage held in only by frame.
Yet here I sit, practicing tame restitution
To make others aware of your logical prostitution.

And I would turn the bullet into a dove, hence my screen name. No wonder we don't get along, eh? =/If I have to say one more time that Fe/Fi/F in general does NOT = emotion, I may shoot someone. Preferably you.
Oh btw I agree with you. We just think that you are shooting yourself in the foot by not using Fe. Beneath the surface you do seem to have just as much drama in your life as me and the fact that you won't share it like I share all my crap makes you look like the whiny drama queen not me. But I risk that sort of rejection and misunderstanding, because I have to get my story out there even if I do get embarrassed. It heals me.
You seem to have this unhealthy aversion to Fe. I don't think I'm the same way. I can use the function when appropriate. However you repress it so much that when you do try to use it (like now), you are just awful at it and you know it. Think whatever you want about me but this can't be healthy for you. Just because you don't value Fe like you do Fi... I think society requires that you at least be mediocre in it, and all functions.
I actually like some of the dramatic stories you had about shit that happened in your life, it helped me kind of 'breathe' around you and it was refreshing. I can understand being guarded about that stuff but lol it's obviously helpful.
Magnetic emotionally expressive politically incorrect yet lovable STRAIGHT guys break my heart too, sugar. Come on, let's go play on the swingset together. Anyways Diana that post made me smile since I was the same way (I think all people who like to socialize online are the same way lol), though I never did understand people tensing up from a hug.
LMAO. Do you really think I don't know that? I don't want to fall in love with you or anything- it just helps people better understand you. I was actually looking out for you but okay then, you never have to do anything you don't feel comfortable with. You obviously want to be understood as much as possible, like anybody else- or else why would you be on here?While you personally might like to see that, it's not yours to request.
You're making me sound like I'm a stalker that is asking for your social security number. Come on Diana, you gotta know that rubs people the wrong way. Oh well though I tried to get along. =)
Anyways I just said I liked the little of when you did it, it was a compliment- learn to accept those. I didn't mean I wanted you to do it all the time. I was just trying to look for a connection or some sort of common ground between us since I'm obviously not stupid enough to judge your entire character based on your socionics persona, and I would hope you'd extend the same respect to me. Well anyway... back to playing with Dolphin and Gilly.

I don't think your aggressiveness is something you do naturally; it seems like a defensive mechanism in arguments.Originally Posted by Gilly

You're right, I don't typically use aggression to get what I want; however it's something I fall back on when I have confidence in my position but feel like I'm not being listened to/taken seriously enough. And it's rarely a defense mechanism; if you have payed attention to some of my arguments with Ashton, I usually turn on the aggression when I feel like it is "obvious" that he is being retarded or misguided. In fact when I'm feeling defensive or vulnerable, being aggressive is one of the things I have trouble doing; when I'm actually on the defensive I internally become more sensitive and have a tendency to throw a fit or just retreat and go emo.
Also if you notice my behavior around UDP, who is one of the people I am most aggressive with, I tend to jump the gun and put the pressure on before he has a chance to put me on the defensive, cases in point being when he comes on stickam and I taunt him and try to provoke a reaction and he refuses to come on cam/leaves the chat ($50 says he faces up to me next time after he reads this post ). I am most comfortable using aggression when I either feel like I already have the upper hand or see that I can easily gain it, either by being offensive or trying to intimidate the other person.

or u get pissy when he calmly presents arguments that directly contradict what you're sayingOriginally Posted by Gilly
Only if I think they are nonsensical; it has nothing to do with being defensive. I promise, when I'm defensive, I'm a total squish and I usually throw a tantrum or remove myself from the situation; I find it hard to be aggressive when I'm like this, which is exactly the opposite of what you are describing; in those scenarios with Ashton, I get angry and try to use force because I feel like he is being blockheaded.
For another example, see the thread where I debate with Kamangir about homosexual rights. It's not about being defensive; it's about wanting to "crush" someone, to use my position for all its worth, when I really feel like I am right or have the upper hand.
