How much alcohol do you consume?

I despise alcohol. I don't like the taste, and the general atmosphere associated with alcohol makes me feel really ill. I don't like the effect it has on people and the health service. It's more expensive than milk. Also, a few drops of alcohol immediately makes me feel like I've going to have a seizure.

However, I do not have any opposition to the consumption of alcohol on religious grounds, as I am a Heathen.

i often find i'm too lazy to drink, for example, I think about drinking beer and all I imagine is how much i'm going to have to piss. too lazy. But a couple years ago, lo' and behold i discovered the cure. Scotch on the rocks. best drink ever. Doesn't make you piss alot. And makes my mouth feel so clean after every sip (why bother brushing your teeth afterwards?) and between a cigarette or two, amazing. Wrote a paper during university sipping that shit, got an A, best thing I ever wrote. BUT i have been living a deprived life lately as my budget can't support such extravagance (sure I could go for whisky on the rocks but it's not the same, it's not the same). one day... one day we'll be reunited... need to find the daugther of a scotch baron fast though or my career will never take off

this is hilarious. I relate to the too lazy thing. So many things are just not worth the effort. I imagine this is part of the reason I'm just a social drinker. If someone else pours me a glass of wine I'll drink it, but if I have to uncork the bottle myself, nah.

I used to drink like a sponge when I drank - a regular booze hound (ie roaring drunk two or three days a week) back in my uni days. Nowadays I get somewhat drunk perhaps once a year, and very rarely touch alcohol at all, not even beer. I guess I simply got tired of waking up and singing the old - "Oh Lord never again" hangover prayer... I have relatives that are alcoholics, I decided I don't want to go down that path.

i relate to this. i drank tons from 18-21, my military days. hubby and i both decided together, not long after we met, we were sick of that old hangover prayer. we both have alcoholics in our families and neither of us wanted to do that either. i will have a drink very rarely and still not while prg or nursing and he hasn't had but 2 beers is 18 years.

It's a diuretic. It makes ur body pee when it doesn't need to, so that alotta the pee is just water, which is what causes the dehydration.

Still essentially a non-drinker. It's never caught on with me, but I was exaggerating slightly before.

There is a word I really need to learn by heart: moderation. Either I drink nothing for weeks or get drinks every day without any special occasion.
Mostly red wine of good quality.
