    Default the Question thread

ok so here's a thread for posting random interesting thought provoking questions.

If you could have free, unlimited service for 5 years from an extremely good cook, chauffeur, housekeeper, masseuse, or personal secretary, which would you choose and why?

i'll go first: personal secretary hands down. it would be awesome to have an assistant to take care of all the details like phone calls and arrangements and banking and appointments.

    I have to choose?

I'd choose housekeeper. I can handle driving, and I'd starve if i have to. But with a good housekeeper at least I can literally come in and start throwing clothes around and not give a fuck about where they land.

That and I can finally just be a slob 24/7 without the consequences.

oh, i like this! a housekeeper, and actually my hubby is hiring one next week!! yeah!

why? same as LV, i'm a slob, so are we all. but i HATE seeing it a mess. i like things to look neat and clean and bright and sunny, ready for more fun and creativity to happen, but i don't like to do the work of cleaning up after myself.

the cook i am tempted with, but, i am a very picky eater and that would actually be MORE work to deal with the nuances of my tastebuds with someone else cooking. and i'm learning to cook more and more and finding it fun to experiment with my own concoctions. and we're grilling more and that's part of the fun of being together as a family. i sing and dance and the kids help me when i'm cooking...and then we all laugh when it tastes horrible and go get some pizza instead! i'm getting better at it though.

I already have a secretary, and it's rather irritating. I can't ever find time for massage, so that would be a wasted resource. Cooking is not necessary, as I kind of like to cook. Driving is SOOOO much fun so yes - definitely a housekeeper. I hate cleaning. H-A-T-E! I have a housekeeper 2 days 2 hrs a week now, and it's heaven. I wouldn't mind to have one on a regular basis, as in all the time...
driving is so much fun until you're driving your kids all over creation, here there and everywhere and having to wait for them at piano lessons, soccer practice, etc. After you have kids, you'll understand the lure of that particular option. Nevertheless I'm going to have to say cook here. (since I already have cleaning persons and I don't need to have the house immaculate in any case). A secretary would be nice but I can deal with that stuff. A masseuse is so fancy and unnecessary. Yep, bring on the cook. But they'd also have to do the grocery shopping which I cannot stand!

lol...i had not thought about that particular aspect of driving, but still, i like to drive. would much rather drive than make arrangements.

    ok next question:

You have the power to go any distance into the future, and, after one year, return to the present with any knowledge you have gained from your experience but with no physical objects. Would you make the journey if it carried a 50% risk of death?

    my answer:

i'd have to say no i would not go. can't risk my kids losing their mom. plus, the future is secure; God is already there.

No way on the revolver and no way on the future with 50% risk of death.

this is interesting....almost all the introverts said they wouldn't call, they'd wait for the friend to call. the extraverts said they'd call. LOL so typical. extraverts....we just can't not do anything.

I value my best friend too much not to call. It's hard to worm your way that far into my intimate circle, when you're there I'm extremely loyal and I'll pretty much torture myself in order to make things work. Then when they don't I move one slot further into my "I don't need people" attitude.

As to going to the future, I wouldn't bother. History major, lol. Now if you asked the same question about the past I might give it some serious consideration. But the future...who cares. We're heading there anyways.
