It's not about feeling better. Who's to say I should feel bad in the first place? Don't act as if these external doctrines are all-encompassing truths. Explain why stealing is inherently bad, other than the fact that it doesn't propagate survival (which seems to be, largely in part, the basis for many ethical codes).Originally Posted by Jem

-It's dishonest and cowardly. If you're that poor, why don't you swallow your pride and ask someone for something.
-It creates feelings of mistrust, which is a relationship killer.
-It's hypocritical. Unless of course you're happy with people taking your possessions at their whim.

cowardly? pride? what are you trying to imply here? sounds like another assumptionOriginally Posted by Jem
Ok, that makes sense. And since most people care about relationships, it's pretty valid.Originally Posted by Jem
this assumes that the "golden rule" is right. I frankly don't care whether or not someone tries to steal my shit. I think fear/respect is a better way to protect against such a thing than some kindergarten moral code.Originally Posted by Jem

If everyone thought like you, we'd soon be reduced to fighting it out like animals. The strongest survives eh? What about people who don't command fear or respect? Too bad for them?
What would you do if you caught someone breaking into your house? "Sorry mate - nice try - better luck next time"?
Question mark city.

Shut up strrrng. You have the common sense and maturity of a child. Go be Mini Ashton somewhere else.
Like I said, I was primarily arguing the principle. You kind of just proved it anyway, because you said "if everyone thought like this, then this would happen," which implies morals are primarily there to keep the peace...aid survival, as I said earlier. If I caught someone breaking into my house? what do you think I would do lol...fight...obviously if they have a gun, you have to be smarter and call the cops and hope they come....but otherwise...lolOriginally Posted by Jem

There is no workable rationale that suggests it is okay to steal someone's food unless you are in dire circumstances (Jessica's don't qualify). Saying that the victim is overweight and thus somehow more eligible to have their food taken if it doesn't meet your dietary criteria is nonsense. That's like saying we all have the right to police each other's food intake. Sure, what Jessica did wasn't really a big deal in the big picture, but that doesn't make it acceptable unless you want to die the death of a thousand cuts.
No, you're Mini Ashton because you spend hours listening to the angsty, antisocial droppings that fall out of his mouth with all the naive eagerness of an 8th grader seeing his first Michael Moore film, think to yourself "Golly! Ashton sure is cool!", then you either consciously or unconsciously try to emulate his behavior here on the forum, both in content and in diction, all with an air of undeserved confidence gained from having big brother Ashton letting you borrow his material. How am I mini ashton? because he chooses to question those things as well? or is it because he's not magnanimous enough for the awesome Fi valuers like you and Joy??
It's obvious and it's pathetic.

Come to think of it, I should start stealing their food on a more regular basis seeing as they're all obese. No need for diets, jessica to the rescue!
Jessica's my dual?? yay!!! now we can join forces and never go hungry. She'll provide the hotdogs, I'll provide the sodas.Originally Posted by Joy
I didn't want to say anything before, but I knew Joy would take this stance. It as if by doing so, she is inadvertantly trying to prove that she is some noble, moral Fi valuer lol. oddly enough, discojoe did the same thing.
Let's note that I wasn't praising Jessica for her action. you could say I was arguing the Ti principle of it.

It was not her actions but her attitude that got the responses from the Fe creatives. I don't think there's anyone here who's foolish enough to believe that everyone who steals food is Beta or that all Betas steal food. This is obviously not true.
Anyways, I'm done. The only reason Jessica started this thread is because she felt like arguing, and I don't have time to entertain her.
For the record, I'd do the same exact thing as Jessica and use the same exact logic.

Sweet, I'm going to steal everyone's food now because they're all fatter than me. I need it more.

Very busy with work. Only kind of around.
You clearly understand nothing. You make assumptions about the nature of a relationship I have with somebody, with absolutely nothing to back it up. You are skewing data to fit your pathetic bias, and come across as extremely desperate in mitigating your frustration. Perhaps you could give a couple of examples of behaviors which ashton did, and then correlate those with a few of mine to add half a dose of validity to your argument. Otherwise, keep your petty feelings to yourself (and no, I don't mean Fi, mr. ENTp )Originally Posted by discojoe
