But I also love my husband's voice (and always have) and he's not my dual (supervisory relations). So who knows. Another strange thing is that I have fallen for a couple of guys in the past whose voices I didn't particularly care for. I mean I grew fond of them but objectively I didn't care for their voices.

    Yeah--interesting topic.
i think voice and function is correlated. I have an idea that hasn't been proven wrong yet with my experience how Ni, Fe, and Se sounds. I have a less strong idea of how Ne sounds but I'm getting there. Also Te and Fi, only the style of talking for them.

and i think you will find everything about your dual appealing.

actually.. i have a recording of myself i made last night that i didn't like because it sounded infantile. heh. you just can't change the way you are.

and also.. i think voice is not the first thing i notice in my dual. thinking back on it i guess i liked their voices. i dunno?

When someone's voice strikes me they are mostly ENTp. something soothing about their voices to me. Some INFps, but it's really varied. It depends I think I like the way that INFps and ISFps speak more than their voices, a calming, IP way. But the tone is not that great.. but most people's voices that I like are smoother, less gravelly, but more hollow sounding. like a huge round orb thats been struck.

What does 'infantile' sound like? Just curious. :-)

ah crap... i have to describe it now.

uh.. more the intonation not Ne, I wasn't talking just about the voice about the recording. Just in general unsure and lacking Se... not forceful.

Well whatever. Vote with whatever adjustment you need to make.

If not edit the poll, then edit your own answer, and say what it is.
Posts I wrote in the past contain less nuance.

Hahaha! I've never heard it described this way, but this sounds just like me. I guess it is kinda weird.

yeah it's like they have lots of enthusiasm for a lot of things, but they still give off a calm vibe. That's what I meant.

There are some speaking voices that I just generally have no problem paying attention to because I like the sound of it that much...however if I dislike the sound I zone out more frequently, or get distracted easily. Ehhh, only a few people have the right sort of voices...and a couple people who might not have the voices to keep my interest, they have their charms to help them out. Sort like my SLE friend, slightly monotone voice like mine (except when very excited) and he speaks quickly, sporadically making him hard to follow. But he makes huge, sweeping gestures and has high energy and excitement while he is talking so...if I start to drift he can reinterest me. yeah I'm going to stick with using the word "reinterest"...do what i want.....

I can't really pin point why certain voices are appealing to me personally...I tend to like deeper ones in both men and women. I like lyrical voices, I like a lot of accents. I greatly admire good singing voices, especially if they can sing in a lower pitch. I kind of like grumbling, but not inaudibly. I don't like light, feathery voices...I like voices that sound solid, which usually belongs to someone who is of a serious nature...like and Ij maybe. Not very inclined to feminine voices in males. I don't like voices of people who sound like they are about to have a heart attack...it makes me feel all...clogged. dlskjfawoefija

So...whoever my dual is should probably meet those specifications right? Hah...if it were only relevant...ah well...

i know i like my hubby's voice. deep, smooth and manly sounding. outwardly most are kinda "afraid" of him. he's 6'5" and 240. but i know he's a big goober at home. when i hear his voice, i know there's a MAN in the house. i like that.

Hmm.. I hadn't really thought about this before...I suppose I kinda like the way ESFp's voices sound...I mean, I wouldn't be attracted based on voice alone, but.. I dunno how to describe it really. meh I dunno.
