Yes.
Letterman, INTj
Craig Ferguson and Jay Leno are identicals, ESTp.

Hah, that's quite a conflict-like scenario, that video of Madonna and Letterman, counting all values.
Se TI FE NI vs SI TE FI NE
But its more like Madonna is conflict seeking there whereas Letterman just calming her down.
Even though its disharmonious its not really a conflict even though you might perceive by feeling the way your conflictor acts as more conflicting thing than it actually is.
edit: SLI-Te sp/so for Letterman. In enneagram he could be 5w6.
Likely NP type in NPA.
ah nvm, I read one of his interviews about his childhood and he sounds incredibly ESE - that video then has to be an example of people in same quadra not getting it onWhat type would you have for Jay Leno (you don't have to have a set type, I'm interested)? What about him makes you go for him as Te/Fi?

I've always taken david letterman for being Te-ego, and he strikes me as LSE or at least delta ST... Can't really be more specific than this at the moment...
What I was really wondering was about the awkwardness.. I really can't see it. I mean I see the things that are pointed out, (doing the cake, etc...) but I can't see how it could be interpreted as awkwardness from his part, or that he is uncomfortable. He acts like he always does according to me...
I love David Letterman and his humor. Have wanted to meet him for a while, love his show. If he is Delta ST, that is awesome.

Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?
I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Actually i'm revising my opinion of him.
when he doesnt have that ridiculous smile plastered all over his face, he actually does ring SLI bells to me (from a VI standpoint):
I dont regularly watch his show, but from the times i have, he does actually seem very laid back. I'll have to study him a bit more.

Letterman is an ISTp. MAdonna is an ESTp 8w7. Craig Ferg. is among the few non-Ne/Si types that have lasted in late night television. Even Chelsea Handler, a very unusual ENTp 2w3, is an Ne type. Ni types, especially, would not last very long. First off, the job requires a type of routine polarized to most Ni and Se types. True, each day may be different, but this sort of job requires facial recognition day in and day out to the point that "you go to bed with them." It sounds odd, but it is true. Rosie O'Donnell, an ESTp 8w9, tried to pull it off, but failed. The funny part was that she furthered her infamous jousting of Se by quarrelling with her male equivolent, lol.

I'd say SEI for Letterman. Not sure where everyone is getting SLI from..his whole job is to sit down and talk with people. SLIs are not much interested in people at all, let alone want to create an entire show where their whole job is to sit and talk with them. Same goes for LSE, so Delta ST makes no sense.
Constantly talking with people and keeping them entertained would be somewhat painful for an SLI or LSE. It is not within their natural realm of competency. Of course, they could do it, just like an ILI could become a kindergarten teacher. But is it likely? No. Our cognitive makeup will naturally gravitate us towards certain fields and areas, and talk-show host for a Delta ST is just not very likely.
Of course, you can't discount someone as being a certain type based on their profession alone. But Letterman's overall disposition and temperament suggest an Fe type. Alpha SFs are naturally adept at creating comfortable environments to get people talking. They are skilled conversationalists and like to entertain. He seems to like lively, cheerful, environments, is good-natured, and is skilled at picking the right questions to get a person talking. I admit I don't know too much about him, but I do know he is not an ST type, neither Beta nor Delta. Overall, I'd say SEI seems likely.

He's not known for seeming aggressive outside of joking so SLI-Te might be it, but I had thought he was an LIE-Ni. Either way, Te ego, he doesn't VI like any Ti/Fe type and he appears Te-ego in the way he interacts with people. My dad is an EIE-Ni and can't stand Letterman's jokes, he mostly likes talk radio and the jokes his friends make; SLE-Ti can make him laugh quite a bit, they're probably the type that is best at making him laugh. I usually enjoy LIEs' sharp comments, they make me laugh sometimes. Sometimes I think SLE humor is kind of stupid, but other times it's pretty good; I find LSI-Se to be pretty funny sometimes, they have a goofy side. Also, some of the things they say out of frustration are actually pretty funny (even when they've criticized me). LSI-Se tend to be more blunt like gammas (and concrete and pessimistic-sounding) than SLE-Ti so that has to do with me finding LSI-Se funnier although I could become depressed by it as well... basically, they sound slightly similar to how I did at times (e.g., when we needed things exact), except only their problems weren't mine, so I could laugh about it.
I'm sorry, but I'm psychologically disturbed.
LSI could be it.
