Thats the damn point, we LOOK like we don't mean it when we say it in a normal calm tone, but we're SAYING the words. Obviously, we wouldn't bother to say "i'm pissed at that" if we weren't actually pissed. However us Fe deficient people wouldn't raise their voice, eyebrows, hands, anything, we'd just say it. Ie, look like I don't mean it, but reallty do.

I think we're more perceptive than you think - esp. when it comes to sincerity. At any rate, if it doesn't come out right - it's gotta to be a lot more believable than a Fe show. People that are putting on Fe are so obvious it's laughable.

I doubt that. We're just perceptive in that area. I have talked to a girl who has Fe role. She can't tell at all, and thinks I am offending her.

I am obviously playing Fe. I told her that not putting 100% attention on the US flag was disrespectful and unpatriotic in the most up and down Fe voice you could imagine, and she got furious and told me that I was the unpatriotic one and how dare I say that and on and on. She isn't one of those patriotic types, but I offended her by telling such an obvious untruth.

no, you're missing the point. I'm TELLING you, to us, it does not matter. You're basically forcing US to be fake FOR YOU, which defeats this whole notion of being 'authentic', doesn't it? We'll say it however damn well we feel is 'sincere'. You can take it or leave it.

I'd just like to lighten the atmosphere with a little Shakespeare: "To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man." Corny, but true. There's always going to be misinterpretations somewhere along the line - at least you can keep them minimal by starting with an honest base. People have accused me of crying crocodile tears when I'm genuinely upset. So am I going to withhold my genuine reactions so as to convince these people? No. If they don't believe my reaction is genuine, then there's nothing I can do about it. That's how I see it anyway.

I find the need to put on "fake Fe" around some alpha groups. I know that it is what gets through to them so i use it. I suppose its not necessarily fake Fe because i do have it unconsciously strong but i am putting on a bit of an act. Generally it works with moderate - good affectiveness. Never excellent. EDIT: Ive just been invited to go to play boardgames at my friends house because an ENTp we used to know is back in town. I fucking hate board games, but im going to fake being happy because i know thats the right thing to do. And maybe i might have more fun than i think

I think Fe types need to show the smiles and happies more because it displays to them the sense of closeness so important to humans. For example ISTj's dont value Fi and dont have it strong so to feel liked / loved etc they want someone to smile at them and laugh with them. Fi types on the other hand are a bit different. When you say something with strong Fi you can express a different kind of love to someone that is felt and valued by the Fi type. Neither is better than the other its just a different tool for achieving the same thing.

One thing it says in the ENFp description ive read somewhere (i think its ricks) is that we dont like displaying over the top emotion. Like we cant jump in the air and say "yipeeeeee". We are kind of self contained with that type of thing comming out only every now and then.

I was just thinking that my brother does this sometimes (the ENFp one). No offense, but it's really obvious to me when he's putting on an act - probably amplified by the fact that I'm his sister - but still.... I'm like - 'Are you serious? Do you think they actually believe you're for real?' To me it's like a caricature. But some people seem to buy it ... so But he's young and inexperienced - I'm sure you're more mature about it. =)
