You want us to type the show? I'd say Ne/Si > Ni/Se. Probably irrational.
If you mean the characters...
Isn't Al probably a rational type, like maybe LII?

Agree with Joy on Ne/Si. LSE works for Tim; he clearly has weak Fi. Al strikes me as SEI. The wife, ethical, extrovert, Si values; ESE>IEE. Neighbor, Delta introvert...EII?
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
I was thinking Ne dominance for Tim... he's more light and playful than any LSE I've ever known of.
Heh I always chuckle at that show, most people hate it. I like it.

Jill could be Te dominant. There seem to be rational/irrational conflicts between her and Tim. Al seems to have weak and/or unvalued Se. I'd guess Delta introvert for Wilson.
I definitely get irrationality from him. That's often the source of Jill and Al's irritation with him (even if they can easily see past it and don't let it cause many big problems), at least from my perspective.
But then again, I haven't seen the show in a while. Of all the characters on it, I relate most to Jill I think. And least to Tim. Wilson's somewhere in between (in terms of characters I related to), and Al should grow some balls. Having someone like Tim in my life would feel like an endless babysitting job.
I'm curious about what Diana thinks of their types.

ILE was my first choice for him a while back, and I still don't understand why it doesn't work. I haven't known many ILE's well though, so I'm pretty to accept that I could be totally off. I really can't see him as a LSE though. If he is indeed LSE, it means I have a lot to learn about the type and I'm more than willing to do so... right now it just doesn't make sense to me though.
I would say LSE for Tim as well... I'd like to hear arguments for other types though.

Good point, I'd forgotten about that. You'd think a TeSi would also understand the consequences of putting a huge motor on something that it's not meant for.
I can really see how Tim would drive an ISxj (especially ESI) insane with all that EP-ness and unfocused energy dispersal and extremely irresponsible behavior. LSE's may not have good foresight, but (generally speaking) they care a lot about being responsible. They're usually an "err on the side of caution" kind of person.
I saw the show the other day where one of his kids is making a model of the solar system, and he basically domineers the whole thing, because he wasn't spreading the paint right, or making the wires straight enough.

I dunno... he doesn't seem Te-dominant at all to me. I don't really see much attention to Te at all, moreso on Ne. He has a new project every episode (overlooking the hot rod, which he never finishes... actually if I remember right, when he "finishes" he decides there's still lots more to be done on it). And considering how most of what he does falls apart (and in comes the laugh track), he might be needing a Te-type to help him hold everything together. Yet still without getting too much in his way since his enthusiasm is all over the place. So, I think IEE.
Also, Wilson rules. Not sure of his type though.
