I feel like if social activism is cool, then why is SJW an insult and not a complement?

    SJW-ism / wokism is melodramatic and over-the-top.

    Yes.

"I am permanently oppressed by the diabolical force of Intersectional Patriarchy which rules the whole world! Because of your original sin, you can never understand! Being black is exactly like being enslaved! Being female is exactly like being raped nonstop forever! Being gay is the same as being burned in the fire ('******!') I am the lost and the damned... but you can put water on my blazing tongue for one moment, o straight white able-bodied Protestant Anglo-Saxon male above!"

..."Liberals" are really, really stupid. Telling people who don't feel oppressed they are and people who do feel oppressed they aren't (e.g., white male coal miners in Pennsylvania) is sadly how a lot of people end up supporting alt-right candidates.

As Chomsky would say: the Left should be the side that's organizing these people.

Social activism is melodramatic and over the top. That’s how it works.

And another thing—social activism requires a level of earnestness and optimism and non-cynicism that is decidedly uncool by most standards.

Yeah, you do have to get people's attention somehow. But you won't convert anyone by dogpiling them. It's important to engage in dialogue (although there now seems to be more of that coming from the left).

If it balances things out, the right-wing can also be over-the-top. Jordan Peterson the, uh, so-called "free speech warrior" threatens to sue people who criticize his work. This is a man who supports censorship, who tries to use the government to silence his critics, and who lies about his support for free speech.

It's still cool by the standards that count!

    He’s INFJ
He believes in a society where people have empathy, solidarity, and mutual support for others

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

IEI (just posting this for future users. you already know what I think)

If Jung based his theories on the people he met in his life, even if he met more people than the average person, that means that he based his theories on a certain type of person. The type of person who might go to him for therapy or talks, or who might believe the esoteric ideas he was spouting at the time. Thus it's possible that he did not categorize all humans into types, but just made subtypes for a specific type of person. This overarching type of person is the same type that is heavily interested in theories of this kind, and whom Alive says is an IEI.

Therefore, Alive is right. We are all IEIs with subtypes. With that, I'm off this forum
