i'm not sure i really understand, but i confess i havent looked in the dictionary yet. i'm thinking it has to do with maintaining honesty or something? my dreams used to be epic and interesting, but lately they've been quite mundane. i dreamed i was being shown around an apartment building last night. did you identify with the surviving kitten?
Also, I've kind of noticed that people can take my silliness and mistake it for playfulness. Like I think that's how I'm able to somewhat appeal to Alpha NTs, by them mistakenly believing I'm being playful, because some of them are also silly in the process (wacky NTs). Oh yeah, I also dreamt I had a puppy and two kittens in a bag, and they suffocated, except for the smaller kitten, and that one became my best friend. I had a lot of craziness going on last night to be honest.
Just look up the definition. With playful, to me there's this social connective process of lightheartedness, with Fe types I see everyone sharing stock in this attitude, which is the main reason Fe valuers get along well together, while various IXTps while being silly but not playful, might just be seen as weird but maybe interesting, weird because we're not, and don't particularly like, connecting with various people in a playful or merry fashion (like, oh he's being silly but it's okay, we're all just "playing" with each other). In my case, I definitely see my silliness reflecting almost the same thing as my weirdness, unless you talk to the few people who get to know me and my sense of humor, and who have a solid bond with me. I still consider myself friendly, just not all that playful, not that I can't be sort of playful on occasion. Being playful is actually a pretty big weakness to Fe-PoLRs. I can be silly even when I'm alone, but if I was ever under the impression that I was just "playing around" and not being serious and truthful to myself, it would probably hurt inside. I think its a lot worse around Fe environments, because you have lots of people who affect you as well, not just yourself. People who aren't Fe-PoLR are much more capable of easily going in and out of being playful, and just saying things jokingly for the general wealth of the emotive dynamic. I think if an Fe-PoLR tried doing this because he felt vulnerable by being out of the loop, he might go too over the top with it, and then be shunned and feel bad inside.
whats the difference between silly and playful? ah, the ambiguity! lol.
