Default Irrationals vs. Rationals: Intertype Relationship Rankings

    Re-exploring pianosinger's theory found here:

I came up with the following lists, different for Rationals and Irrationals.

    If you are Rational:
    1. Dual
    2. Semi-Dual
    3. Identical
    4. Activator
    5. Kindred
    6. Beneficiary
    7. Mirror
    8. Look-A-Like
    9. Benefactor
    10. Supervisee
    11. Mirage
    12. Quasi-Identical
    13. Extinguishment
    14. Conflictor
    15. Supervisor
    16. Super-Ego

    If you are Irrational:
    1. Dual
    2. Mirage
    3. Identical
    4. Activator
    5. Look-A-Like
    6. Benefactor
    7. Mirror
    8. Kindred
    9. Beneficiary
    10. Supervisee
    11. Semi-Dual
    12. Quasi-Identical
    13. Extinguishment
    14. Conflictor
    15. Supervisee
    16. Super-Ego

What is your Socionics type (are you Irrational/Rational), and what would you rank, in general, as your best five intertype relationships?

What criteria would you use to rank them the best?

I'm interested in seeing what the differences in rankings are between Irrational and Rationals.

I'm gonna include subtypes in this, since I have yet to see a set of intertype relation descriptions that take them into account. There aren't any real names for these intertypes, so I'm just gonna base them off of my own self-typing. Make of this what you will.

    1. Te-ISTp
    2. Si-ISTp
    3. Si-ESTj
    4. Te-ESTj
    5. Fi-ENFp
    6. Ne-ENFp
    7. Ne-INFj
    8. Fi-INFj
    9. Te-INTp
    10. Si-ISFp

it would be more clear if you had used relationship names instead of types.
relationship including subtypes can be written like this: Duality - same subtype

This is my relationship list, relations based on usefull/worthwhile for long term.
The rest is not adequate for that.

    1) Duality (same subtype)
    2) Duality (different subtype)
    3) Activation (different subtype)
    4) Activation (same subtype)
    5) Mirror
    6) Identical
    7) Semi duality

The rest sucks for long term relationship

    1. Duals/Activator
    2. Quasidentical
    3. Beneficiary(?) (Would be ENFJ for an ILE right?)
    4. Kindred
    5. Business
    6. Benefactor
    7. Probably Super-ego
8-15. Habidid boo - some other types
    16. Suvervisor

Maybe Identical should go in the middle somwhere, but I don't have that much experience with them...

I actually agree with this list pretty well.. though I would put identical above mirror and kindred would rank above semidual.

    From this thread:

For instance, Benefit. One of my best friends is an EII guy married to a SEI. I can see signs of the strain around Te issues, but their favorable infantile-caregiver axis probably compensates for a lot. On the other hand, I have witnessed LSI-SEI Benefit relationships that ended in tears - and the aggressor-caregiver thing wouldn't have helped.

For rationals, Illusion is better from that PoV than Semi-Duality; for irrationals, it's the other way around.

Generally speaking, I tend to think that Victim-Victim is particularly unfavorable, so Gamma NT and Beta NF mirror and identical relationships will be less promising than Alpha SF and Delta ST mirror and identical - and, indeed, than Beta ST and Gamma SF mirror and identical (I have known a few Alpha SF mirror couples that overall did well).

A couple I know very well is LSI m - ESI f - kindred, and aggressor-aggressor. He seems sometimes a bit depressed due to the lack of Fe but overall they're ok.

I happen to know even a quasi-identity couple - SEI f, ESI m. That's not really favorable but in their case it seems to work due to their being both in their second marriages, and already rather old - so they just accept each other as they are and avoid open sources of disagreements. I talk a lot to the ESI guy, and he essentially accepts her SEI-ness as "just the way she is" - even as he clearly doesn't understand it - but in a good-humored way.

My basic point is that while it doesnt' affect the broad duality-> conflict worsening progression, I think that those factors make the precise ranking more complicated.
I think Expat raises a great point here, and I bolded the part about irrationals/rationals. I usually always feel more comfortable naturally around Semi-duals versus illusionary, but for example, how do LSIs feel about their illusionary (LIEs) given that they are both rational and also have the aggressor victim relationship? Maybe they would rate it higher than activity in certain instances? Maybe not (due to the lack of Fe)?
