A brave, iconoclastic position. Are you ready for all the criticism you're gonna get from everyone?

To me it's less about one ideology versus another it's about whether you yourself are the ideology instead of your own heart or reason

People let themselves get infected by the virus only because they are unhealthy and dehumanized

If you persistently call yourself a feminist then I won't trust you

Ideologies are constructions of the mind, thats right. To make an ideology a virus, the ideas must have a positive emotional aspect – e.g. to unmake a perceived unequality – or some other benefit to get spread among people and accepted by people.

To be fair, any dopamine fix has an positive emotional aspect. So cocaine, alcohol, tobacco, selfies, etc...

Because something gets spread amongst the people, it doesn't mean its a good thing. It could also be that people are weak and filling the voids in their heart with fluff.
Projection is ordinary. Person A projects at person B, hoping tovalidate something about person A by the response of person B. However, person B, not wanting to be an obejct of someone elses ego and guarding against existential terror constructs a personality which protects his ego and maintain a certain sense of a robust and real self that is different and separate from person A. Sadly, this robust and real self, cut off by defenses of character from the rest of the world, is quite vulnerable and fragile given that it is imaginary and propped up through external feed back. Person B is dimly aware of this and defends against it all the more, even desperately projecting his anxieties back onto person A, with the hope of shoring up his ego with salubrious validation. All of this happens without A or B acknowledging it, of course. Because to face up to it consciously is shocking, in that this is all anybody is doing or can do and it seems absurd when you realize how pathetic it is.

I'd say that belief/habit/gerund that's bad for you long term would fit the term mind virus.

Feminism is cool. But if someone used it to further a victim mentality, yeah, that's going to make their life hell down the road.

Is this actually a meme thread in disguise? The OP's 2000-and-late, it's too boring I'm afraid. So if we dump memes here I think I can contribute then, hope you like it since I have a little story about how I became a mom.

Yesterday I found what I deem the cutest alien I've ever seen. All my life I've been waiting for a meme like this I still need a name for it. Maybe Boop McHarris is a good idea, though I don't know why. Anyway. Here is Boop McHarris. He's my adorable adoptive son. Please support and praise him a lot

Saying that you don't care about the right to privacy because you have nothing to hide is no different that saying you don't care about freedom of speech because you have nothing to say.

Sure, this could be what feminism is becoming. Maybe it's not

Arguing from any point of an ism seems to me a shit storm waiting to happen. But feminism isn't the problem. It's people that pass off their own petty problems as inequality or justify their victim mentality to get what they want that discredit all the hard work people have put into fighting injustice.

Some advice that might be helpful for people here:

So someone made fun of feminism, you're a feminist, and you are offended. Step back for a moment and ask yourself this:

Did this person actually make fun of me? Or did he just make fun of a cause I happen to support? I know that millions of other people happen to share my worldview, but now that I think about it, this also means that someone who makes fun of feminism isn't actually singling me out for ridicule as a person. They didn't shame me, defame me or try to whip up animosity towards me. Also: is it really that wise for me to identify so strongly with an ideal, an abstract value that is constantly evolving? Maybe I have been too quick to judge this person. He is probably just trying to create some good cheer and get people to laugh. He is also someone who I have never met and will probably never meet, and people like that are not important.

You (and by extension your community and nation) have a right to not be robbed, raped, killed, to not have your house burnt down, be spied on, have your expression censored, and so on. When the majority of people are humble, obey the law, and don't interfere with each others' lives, society prospers.

Rights are often confused with privileges. There is an easy way to tell the difference between them, though: you don't have a right to another individual's possessions. For example, you don't have a right to have sex with whomever you like, or to live in whatever country you like. Why? Because you are not entitled to anybody else's resources and territory, let alone their time, respect and affection.

I know that you hate whiny men who think you owe them a kiss, or even a fuck, just because they're "nice". Fair enough - but you can't tax these men to pay for your birth control, abortions and so on, either. You are responsible for your own life. Do not be a hypocrite.

Feminists are not interested in strength or independence from men. An independent woman does not expect men to open doors for her or to pay for her drinks. She also does not feel entitled to respect, let alone deference from men if she has done nothing to earn it. A strong woman does not wait for love to come into her life, either, but will actively seek out and court men who she is attracted to. She is not afraid of the wild, passionate impulses that are naturally associated with the male sex drive. She does not blame extraneous circumstances for any setbacks she encounters, but recognizes that she has the power to shape her own destiny, for good or evil.

I have encountered women who meet this description before. Not even one of them identifies as a feminist, and some expressed heavy disdain for women who do.

In summary, I do not see contemporary feminism as a distinct movement. It is merely a branch of the neo-Marxist drive to dismantle the nuclear family, religion and ethnicity, in order to make people totally uniform, vulnerable and dependent on an ideology to define themselves.

    False dichotomies detected.

Personal opinion: I would say that crypto-nazis are much cooler than feminists, because the former are capable of holding a conversation and yet they're supposed to already be dead.
