    Default Functions analogy

    Our functions resemble a fleet.

The base function is an aircraft carrier. Everything has to do with it. You'd like to "convince" people by merely showing it off, but you can't. Actually, it is really weak, as the King in Chess.

The fighters on the carrier deck are the creative function. You CAN definitely smash people by letting them play, you are the man when using it, no one can challenge you here. Unfortunately, the creative function has to go back to the carrier and refuel, you cannot use it all the time, it's exhausting.

The role function is the group of ships that protect the carrier: if someone attacks the king, these guys will protect it by launching cruise missiles against the dickhead who messed with you

The point of least resistance is a set of spy planes, AWACS and stuff like that that survey and watch closely the king, from a safe place

Interesting, but smells like hogwash. =D Your base function is anything but weak.

While the creative function has an amazing ability to defend against a base function of the same element, in general the base function is more capable of dealing with any new problems that come up.

Brains don't divide between the CPU and the hard drive; it is your knowledge that thinks.

OK, the carrier is not weak, just "not able to harm"

You get far in life focusing primarily on your base function and ignoring the rest, that's really what all celebrities do pretty much. They are pure. They always go somewhere, on a path- because ultimately, focusing on the rest of the functions ends up being interesting but it also makes you personally stagnant. They learn this at a very young age. That's why they are more powerful than you with more connections.

If you want to keep moving, and keep going, and just keep getting better and better infiniitely then I think that comes from focusing solely on your base function, what you're really really good at- and just keep flying from there. The rest of the functions will sort out on its own and other people will naturally cover up what you're not good at anyway, as long as you remember to stay connected.

They say a human being isn't meant to be specialized, that we're versatile - however this isn't really true. We're so very unique that if people aren't doing *exactly* what they are meant to do, and keep going with that- they are just really wasting *everybody else's* time, and so they don't really have the kind of life, or power/respect, or things they want either.

You already wasted time trying to understand all the other functions besides your own, and so the world just moved 5623498234928347294 light years ahead of you. Where you're supposed to be, and where you're at- you just made the chasm worse for yourself. Before you reflect it back on me, nice try- because I am using pure Ni-ego to help you reconnect with your own Source energy so I am doing what I'm meant to do, but you're not. =D

Go faster. Move. In a direction.

Two dangers I see in this line of thought:
    1. Specializing to only thinking about certain things can easily limit your strengths - it's hard to preach specialization without preaching the separation of fields from each other.
    2. Someone has to keep track of the fact that every field of specialization is important so that people don't start fighting over which base function is best. "It is a high and lonely destiny."

We're versatile specialists - meant to specialize in a way that's constantly adapting to the environment. The great danger of specialization is rigidity - being unable to apply your strengths to different environments.
