    Default Why PerC is shit.

PerC, also known as personalitycafe, is shit. Why? It is essentially a MBTI community. I came far enough to know that the head leader there is SLE, and he do not really care about Socionics. He do care about popularity and making the forum about MBTI. In reality the forum sucks for Socionics. Shoot a msg if you want to know more.

Why don't you just post the info here so we can all see it? Unless of course you're stealth advertising for another forum.

PerC was never intended to be a Socionics forum, so you would expect their content on the theory to be inferior to ours, and more sporadic. Nonetheless, I found the forum useful in other ways, at least until recently. There is a lot of activity which creates a lively social atmosphere.

Unfortunately, many of the posters there are mentally ill, reactive, obnoxious loose cannons, and the forum is quickly becoming one giant safe space just to prevent them from being triggered. A lot of the decent members have left due to the punitive and subjective moderation.

I have always wondered why so many mentally ill people are drawn to typology, until I saw this:

I posted there for a short while. I tried to get them to implement socionics into their forums.

The stench of beta control was unbeareable, so I left.

TypoC is a more welcoming forum with a better atmosphere, but it has some drawbacks of it's own: mainly too much moderation. Users are pampered.

Ultimately, none of you will benefit from intrigue, and the woes of other forums are not our problem to solve. Gossip and resentment are like cancers; both eat away at the vitality of a group from within. We should instead focus on what we have here.

The problem is that most people there are 16 or at least act like it. Their typing skills are also horrendous, but it's not like you can expect much with vagueness that is Mbti.

They have a fairly high quality enneagram forum these days, though. Makes me a regular. There's some more Socionics creeping into the enneagram section as well. I go here for my socionics fill and there for my enneagram and try to spread the love of each theory between them. Both here and there have drama honestly.

I made an account when someone here suggested it. I read some stuff, didn't post, didn't log in for months, went back and my account was deleted, apparently, since password reset does not send an email. Therefore they suck and will continue to suck for that but I do end up there frequently when doing searches on enneagram or various other terms.

“My typology is . . . not in any sense to stick labels on people at first sight. It is not a physiognomy and not an anthropological system, but a critical psychology dealing with the organization and delimitation of psychic processes that can be shown to be typical.” —C.G. Jung

Oh, it's Tigerfadder, well i think, you posted in Spamworld and your posts are four-plucate.. 4 posts of Same contents but different titles.

Then the mods closed all your posts in spam world because i don't know why. Because you're new.

Mods are not nice with new people there. Because they think you're a dupe. A spammer dupe. A troller dupe.

But I've seen that one of your post in main forum haven't closed and it's like people are responding to it and doesn't call your thread as a troll. Which is good.

Actually, the gossip in PERC is fucking BIG.. That i would not doubt that they already know this fucking thread.

    Why PERC GOSSIP IS BIG?
People there, already built a community outside, through Skype group and discord apps.

So it's easier to talk or share stuffs or gossips.

And create dramas as well. Drama. That's a necessity there.

I think so. Besides they're more about MBTI/enneagrams . And actually, mbti is very easy to learn. And then comes jungs cognitive functions. Once you already knew those basic terms.. You're already a knowledgeable person there.

The thing is, i think perc is more of a social community rather than a source for mbti/cognitive functions/enneagrams.

Like threads there are more of discussing unrelated mbti theories. So it's more of a socialization i guess.

You can also appear intelligent there by explaining how basic functions works in noobs.

But i think highly intuitive and intelligent people would not appreciate those kinds because it's like you will only teach there not really gain anymore knowledge.

Spam and troll there, not anymore exchange psychology knowledge.

Talk about politics, debate, philosophical stuffs and not talk about psychology theories.

So it's more of a social community other than learning psychology theories.

It's a safe space mostly for NFS. I think.. Because it makes you share your dreams, ideals, etc with each other.

So that's why Most people there are NFs because as you will see, most active forums and threads are on NFs. Special mention: INFP.

People on PerC think it's a great idea to date your conflictors because the mbti world has some odd ideas for pairing up different types, which make no sense to me.

I made one account there just to see if I could troll and then deleted it because I couldn't stomach the first response I got (not because I was getting what I wanted, but because someone decided to actually dissect my feeble bait and subject it to the same cringey kumbaya mentality that runs the place). Guess patience isn't my strongest suit.

And ya it's all just nine-year-olds feebly slapping each other there. No redeeming value.

There was a thread there on the math of socionics that someone here referred me to a few years ago. When I finally looked at it, I saw it had quickly devolved into a flame thread that had nothing to do with the original topic.

Norms are different, but expectations are the same, and from what I've seen, it's more appropriate to call someone out on his bullshit and shame and humiliate him for it online than IRL.

Norms make expectations and perceiving. Some people need the experience to understand the Internet norms and take all barking lesser seriously. When someone too annoys - just add to blacklist.

It's insufficient for anyone who is 24+. They had some age polls posted and 80% of Personality Cafe posters are under 25 with the majority being in the 18-21 age range. So it's basically a community for teenagers and people in early 20s who discuss typical high school and college topics, and it starts getting progressively less interesting for anyone who is over that age and no longer in school, basically anyone who is not within their target demographic.

That'd explain why I'm more sanguine on it than most of the people here; it fits my demographic.

The website sections somewhat differ, though. Enneagram section seems to be predominately 18+, while the MBTI subforums strike me as mostly 17 and under.
