Yes, challenge me bitches.
Depends on what you consider to be "psychologically healthy".
I'm not host to mental disorders so I voted yes, besides I at ease with myself.
i want to say no but then i think of all the fuck-uppery going on in certain other people's lives and it all makes me look relatively functional by comparison.
lets say i think i'm not beyond fixing.
There be Kafka's around these parts.
Yes, it's broad. Within categories of pd's, there can be functioning vs. non-functioning people.... and sometimes actually-defined categories for such, from a psychologically defined standpoint.
Yea, I gave up on thinking I was crazy when I realized most everyone was.
Nowadays I'm about inbetween. I do have some disorders still, but I've improved greatly. Most of it comes from the stability R provides for me. I figure I will likely be off disability within a couple of years from now, but if I lost R, it wouldn't take long before I'd completely break down again. Even w the stability he provides, I still wouldn't be able to hold a full time job without breaking down again, though. Hence why I've been trying to learn some skills that can at least feed me or keep me alive one day at a time, heh.
If I was on my own, I'd probably be homeless again, maybe even a bag lady talking to herself.

To be human and not have some kind of mental "issue", well, you're really not much of a human...let's be honest. I score high on like all the mental disorders. Fun times.
Oh, and cool thread.
I don't, looks like I am not human. Not from this world. Definitely crazy.
Yeah right. Most schizophrenics are unable to function properly in normal society and it is not, I repeat, not a disorder of any kind...
Cough.

Probably more so than I have any right to be, but I refrain from answering these type related polls.

On a yes no basis I voted yes because I don't seem to have major disturbances that make my life problematic. I am however also not 100% normal / sane.

Healthy, as in a perfect psychological specimen? No, of course not. I'm about as well off as anyone else though.
Easy Day
to be honest, no not really.
my brain is just very negative. hard for me to lighten up when im around people. i smell their hatred and sociopathy and bigotry too easily. i want my mommy. get me away from everybody. I DON'T WANNA GO TO LOWE'S AND BE A NORMAL MIDDLE CLASS MAN. AHHHHHH.
oprah tells me i need to think more positively but but but i don't know how to do that yet. anyways i was doing kinda of one on one life coaching with a person and she really helps u reframe negative thinking patterns and also contradictory mental statements that keep you stuck. the sort of yes and no thing the brain does... and how to make that more yes or something.
no, I don't think so.
I have a functional life but I'm too scared and doubtful on a everyday basis to consider myself healthy.
For the first time in about nine years, I would say "yes." I have my ghosts that still haunt me, but I have some sweet digs for them to retreat to now.

Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love."

probably not, but i've been worse.
As a phd in armchair psychology I can, without a doubt, diagnose your mental dysfunction. However, I'm having trouble on my own and would require the assistance of my dear colleague @blackburry. Together, I'm sure we can not only find a problem where there wasn't one, but solve it as well. In the mean time, I will prescribe an antidepressant to be proactive in dealing with your possible symptoms. And I promise you, we will get to the bottom of this.
yay @Fireyed!
Psychological health is very culture dependent. I like to think that I was born into the wrong world. People find me sane, reasonable but maybe somewhat emotionally unstable.

AHAHA@some of the yes's on this poll tho

<Crispy> what subt doesnt understand is that a healthy reaction to "FUCK YOU" is and not
I have light version of this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alice_i...rland_syndrome
I don't think very many people on this board are psychologically healthy. I'm certainly not -- at least I don't think I am. I'm fairly normal by all outward appearances, but that's hardly a telltale sign of someone who is psychologically healthy. I suppose the poll begs the question, though, of what is a state of psychological health?
I'm not unhealthy, just crazy.
tbh people who have thought they were mentally healthy while judging other people as not were the true villains in the world, so let's hear it for being crazy. im of the belief that the patients are more sane than the therapists type of deal.

I like this definition:
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines mental health as a 'state of well-being in which every individual realizes his or her own potential, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and is able to make a contribution to her or his community'
So i'm a borderline sicko.
thats part of why i made the poll. its common for people here to talk about how people on this forum are psychologically messed up and maybe its obviously true in the case of a few people but mostly i think its kind of arbitrary and a meaningless insult, cuz what is "healthy" anyway and who can judge. i think most people here are functioning albeit in different ways and with different levels of happiness and/or social acceptability.
