Because it's been a while:
"How could we forget those ancient myths that stand at the beginning of all races, the myths about dragons that at the last moment are transformed into princesses? Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage. Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love."

I love that Arvo Paert piece. Have you heard Eric Whitacre's stuff? It's similar, but Whitacre has a more spare aesthetic. The sounds he can get just out of a choir are amazing to me:
Also I like the Morcheeba song. The video is haunting, too. I've never heard of them before.

from my favorite movie as a kid, Bugsy Malone

This video makes me wish I had ovaries so I could bear this man's children.
Easy Day
Perhaps not a castrato, but some sort of haute-contre countertenor. The most stunning example of this voice type I've heard is Russell Oberlin:
Two contemporary examples:

You know, I haven't actually heard most of those songs off Battle of Los Angeles (didn't get to buy that album). They got funkier apparently, heh.

Did anybody watch this show?:

I caught it the other day on some cartoon channel I didn't even know I had. It actually holds up really well; a lot of jokes that probably went way over my head as a kid, lol.

I love this song, and so does an ILI I know. It is a beautiful pop ballad.

A personal favorite of mine:

I appreciate music.
How 'bout some buckethead
i like buckethead. but he plays too loud. ear bleeding occurs on all non soothing songs. which is 95% of songs. Better sound board people are needed most places, unless your a huge artist you can't have a dedicated sound guy who's great. Unless you got some loyal groupies. Been to two shows 1 was say 30% louder at the same place, and the lights were shit the 2nd time too. Totally ruined it. Drunk people should not be on the soundboard.
Anyone who doesn't like Amanda Palmer probably doesn't have a soul.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
I've always loved this song:
