Wow. I'm wondering if he's Fe leading (unless it's an Fe HA on overdrive).
Probably. He seems SEI, at least on the surface. Definitely Si/Ne.

He is obviously alpha i think we can all agree on that.
I think by the way he's describing things, and also his professional field, Ti mode Si agenda works quite well.
He almost became "religious" sounding at 3:00 describing the processes of the universe coming to an end. This comes across as Si agenda to me and I almost had shivers as he described these events.
His sort of awe, and obvious fascination with the evolution of existence fits quite well with Si agenda and I describe things in basically the exact same way.
He even hit on that very Si concept that we are all made of star dust. Awesome shit right thur.
Yeah so final verdict... Ti ENTp with a confidence of 4/5

Me? Preaching on morals?
*sigh*, you're one of the annoying ILEs \:
(That was Fi, btw)
Observation:
Archon delivered good explanation.
Ephemeros delivered nothing, then got pissed off when I pointed that out.
!!DISCLAIMER!!
Purely subjective opinion of events.
Would you mind giving your reasoning behind the typing? Maybe my idea of Alpha Fe is all wrong ... but I can't see how Tyson as ESE would be such a long shot. Here's another video where he seems more at ease..

Ephemeros I disagree with your idea of how Si can manifest itself in Alpha NT's.
Its too big of a discussion by itself so i dont have any intention of explaining my reasoning on this thread.

I see him talking about people's desires, and wanting to give people something that he knows that they will want - that struck me as . I definitely see the , and I thought I noticed as well - but I didn't notice any . Under Model X, that suggests either ESE-Fe or SEI-Si. I'll go with ESE, because I see SEI-Si as not having much personal use for (it's mostly for the benefit of their duals), whereas ESE-Fe would use as the key to moving from to .

Idk. I guess Im seeing more of the Ti Ne.
Perhaps he is an ALPHA SF, but im leaning towards ALPHA NT.

Nah, richard dawkins is not Se ISTj
He's Ti ENTp. That whole interest in evolution and memetics stems from his Si agenda. Like, for real, interests should be largely determined by type. Now I won't hold to this everytime, but macroevolutionary theory and astrophysics (in the way they describe them) is largely Ti-Si and therefore include Fe-Ne.
Its all about the complex progression of life and ideas, how these simple actions, build up as you scale outwards into a complex array of life. That sort of "inter-connectedness", deterministic, and fluid view of the physical world is quite Si and even more Alpha Si.
This guy is similar I think to Dawkins and I'm basically the same way.
The end is nigh
This is from a general impression of Dawkins, but from everything I've seen, I felt like he was on the same "wave length" as myself and his speech reminds me of myself, once again.
LSI (and Se sub taboot) seems far fetched to me.
I'm not an expert on him, but I'm basically intuiting Ne/Si from what I've seen.
The end is nigh
I really love listening to tyson. I especially liked what he had to say in the dawkins/tyson video.

I cannot imagine, or have actually seen, that an ESE or SEI could be able to give such lectures about science.
ILE seems the best bet.
This guy is so great. Here's the kind of stuff he posts to Twitter:
- Does it disturb anyone else that "The Los Angeles Angels" baseball team translates directly to "The The Angels Angels"?
- Just an FYI: Today is "Thursday the 12th" and it's just as common as "Friday the 13th"
Anyway, does anyone have a type for him?
Fe-ESE (9w1 so/sp)
He is criticizing Dawkins in the video below by pointing out that he has a certain sharpness in delivery and that he could make greater impact as an educator if he didn't just state his opinion, but also exercised more perceptiveness and responsiveness to the listeners' state of mind, which is the leveling effect of his Fe on Dawkin's Ti.
Lots of Fe is getting thrown around in this podcast between Tyson and Joe Rogan (SLE).

Sorry to bring out an old thread like this.
So he have done some more appearances since 2009 and strike me as more entertainer. He do science but his strength is to be the public eye.
I was introduced to him through the TV show Cosmo and I found his passionate and personally engaging style incredibly emotive and therefore enthralling. I recommend that show to everyone I meet and have even burned DVDs for people.
Being personally and unapologetically invested in his messages for the histories, stories and lessons of science is a refreshing and much needed element for popularizing Science and reason for a secular western society.
Having a mix of pathos and keen intellectual mind to his presentation is probably a clue to his personality type. Also get strong Si impressions from him.

write down ILE for me.
Not LSE.

In my first one he reminds me of her too when he denies that there is consciousness (she does believe in god though :/) and his intonations. I think it might be because she is Ni polr and emotional. She can talk about consciousness for a few minutes before her eyes glaze over though and she starts checking her iphone and laughing at whatever cute video her partner sends her. She just doesn't know enough to give a proper rebuttal but I am sure if she did she would have a strong rebuttal. lol As it is now she kind of of uh-huhs us, with subtle eye rolls, when my other sister and I go on about it then question if she is even listening.
I know Bill O'Reilly is typed LSE by some here. I used to type Bill ILI because he looks similar to my stepdad and he is always predicting negative outcomes. I am no longer interested in his type. Bill could be LSE. If they are both Ni polr it is an interesting contrast. Neil is very expressive and Bill is dry, calm, moralistic, and cynical until he gets angry. Then his demon comes out and he loses his composure. Bill tries to be more controlled in public I think but he snaps. Neil was still kind of cute the whole time and it all seems rather light hearted in comparison to Bill, even if he is "heated".The prevailing stereotype of scientists is that they're a bunch of quiet geeks wearing white coats and playing with test tubes in labs. They're not usually associated with moves more often seen on WrestleMania. In the midst of a heated discussion, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson hopped out of his chair, only to be playfully restrained by renowned PBS nerd Bill Nye the Science Guy.
Nye and Tyson were part of a panel of science experts gathered together to discuss topics ranging from the origins of the universe to cutting-edge technologies. The panel took place as part of the Origins Project at Arizona State University. You could watch the whole multi-hour discussion, or check out the below video for the juiciest bit.
The discussion centered around our motivations for sending people into space. It got heated enough for Tyson to chase theoretical physicist Brian Greene around the stage. Though Tyson may have the strength to heft Thor's hammer, he was nonetheless rendered helpless by a behind-the-back pin from Nye. Greene got in a few good swats before the panel returned to normal.
I'm not expecting the MMA to come calling for any of these guys soon, but it's certainly entertaining to see science get physical, even if it's only in jest. Still, my money's on Tyson to pull out the win in the end.

WTF Bill. Anger management?

Aww, his kids are lucky if he practices what he preaches.

Yeah man, he actually scares me in the second video, haha.
I am rather sure he is Te lead, and most likely LSE. You can just tell he's got 4D Se in the second vid.
Btw, Ne HA can make people come up with some weird (usually false) predictions...
Anyhow, you can see Bill is quite different from Neil.
You may not "believe in" the Reinin dichotomy of Merry vs Serious, but if you can see some merit in it, it should be obvious that Neil is "merry" and Bill is "serious" in comparison.
I believe Neil has got Fe HA, so that also makes people more inclined to see him as Fe lead / ESE. At least it should be obvious to most he is Alpha.
While Bill... nope, not at all.
Yep Neil obviously values Ne and fits into merry quadra quite nicely!
Bill is the type I would avoid even though I actually found him interesting for awhile. I saw him for the first time right after my stepdad died and I thought it was some kind of sign from the universe since they looked alike. LOL Anyway my dad was more right than wrong in his predictions and Bill really annoyed me a lot. I used him to practice acceptance. Once I could watch him all the way through without wanting to throw something through the TV I felt I had achieved some level of acceptance and stopped watching. I used to make myself watch TV evangelists for the same reason since they could cause me to feel hatred toward them due to past history with them. It was part of my "therapy" when I left Christianity, because they were no longer making sense, to do my own thing. I became more patient with others due to this weird practice I experimented with. It works but it does not last because if I don't continue to work on it I will just find myself irritated by the same type all over again. Anyway maybe I was too focused on being a 9 back them and thinking I had to be more accepting of everyone. It was a good practice when it came to dealing with difficult people. hahah
Bill is very scary and I would not want to be part of his family or work with him.
