SLE? No way. He's hot but oh so gay.
*EDIT* (3/17/2014) post deleted for stupidity
NOT SLE.

While I love him and I admit my typing skills aren't the greatest, SLE he does not appear to be.
I took a deep breath and listened to the old bray of my heart. I am. I am. I am.
The Bell Jar - Sylvia Plath
From some interviews I've read/seen and his general demeanor on air I'm pretty sure he's EII
EII INFj
Forum status: retired
Maybe you guys are right. . .I'm not sure if i know any EIIs in real life. . .

He just doesn't seem like an introvert from the way he comes across in the videos. And his sense of humor comes across very Se-like to me.

IEE IMO.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
He likes to get fucked in a sling.
We'd have good sexual chemistry.
"Cooper has never married and has actively avoided discussing his private life, citing a desire to protect his neutrality as a journalist. His public reticence contrasts deliberately with his mother's life spent in the spotlight of tabloid journalists and her publication of memoirs explicitly detailing her affairs with celebrities; Cooper vowed "not to repeat that strategy".[19][20][21] Independent news media have reported that Cooper is gay,[22] and in May 2007, Out magazine ranked him second behind David Geffen in its list of the fifty "Most Powerful Gay Men and Women in America."[23] When asked about his sexuality, he stated "I understand why people might be interested. But I just don’t talk about my personal life. It’s a decision I made a long time ago, before I ever even knew anyone would be interested in my personal life. The whole thing about being a reporter is that you're supposed to be an observer and to be able to adapt with any group you’re in, and I don’t want to do anything that threatens that."[4] He has, however, discussed his desire to have a family and children.[5]"
Translation: I like to be fucked by men in slings and be spat on and treated like the daddy whore I am.
Actually EII is probably a better typing.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,

If you're gay, does that mean you go with your identical? I was always confused about that.
lol
I've had the realization that relationships are too complex to label traits being 'different' and 'same.' I just like what I like and it's neither the same nor different from myself, and it's both of those things at once, all at the same time. It's colors. Not words. It's music. Not intellect.
Or I guess like everybody else says, enough similarities to share a bond with and enough differences to spark chemistry.
Not a rule, just a trend.
IEI. Probably Fe subtype. Pretty sure I'm E4, sexual instinctual type, fairly confident that I'm a 3 wing now, so: IEI-Fe E4w3 sx/so. Considering 3w4 now, but pretty sure that 4 fits the best.
Yes 'a ma'am that's pretty music...
I am grateful for the mystery of the soul, because without it, there could be no contemplation, except of the mysteries of divinity, which are far more dangerous to get wrong.
OK so you guys are all throwing things like ESI, EII out there. . .but not really giving the reason behind your typing. EII seems to be the most frequent suggestion, so explain please?? cause I'm not seeing Fi or Ne, but i'm a noob.

ESE ... 3/5 confidence
Very brief reasoning: Cooper is good friends with Larry King... He's reminiscent of David Gregory, Chris Matthews... Frequently uses INTj Chuck Todd on his show... All of these people are alphas.
That piercing intuitive gaze could only be executed by an ILE.
Lol.
I'll go with EII. It's hard to define, but I'm seeing IJ temperament probably more than any other.
I keep thinking of his recent heroics in Haiti and the way he kept downplaying it, clearly uncomfortable with the attention he was receiving for "simply doing the right thing". I know I would be reacting in exactly the same way.
EII - Ne

He came out of the closet yesterday.
*fucks the shit outta him*
ew he is annoying
Extremely annoying ^^ dunno what the big deal about him is...
He's boring, conventional . . . ordinary.
I don't know about his type. I often considered XXTj. Maybe LII-Ti.
He seems like some INXj, could be LII.
Yaaroslav, do not spam the forum.
I thought Ne ego for sure, IEE or ILE probably, 3w2 so/sp if I've ever seen one.

I think I've seen a couple of his shows in the past. They're somewhat interesting at times. Nothing really different though.
Fi-IEE probably if I had to guess.

ok i'd like to clarify that when i had this highly mistaken impression, I was a complete newb to socionics, and hadn't even had my type right at the time (I was self-typing IEI).
I really like Anderson Cooper, and dont have anything against a delta NF typing for him. I guess my OP goes to show I always considered him a quadra-mate.
Enneagram: 9w1 6w5 2w3 so/sx
I agree with Delta NF. I think he might be EII-Fi (Harmonizing subtype) [EII-SLI or EII-ILI] . . . He’s Dr. Phil’s dual. I am not as sure regarding Enneagram -- perhaps 1w9 sp/so for Anderson Cooper.

He just strikes me as more IXFx (Sincere and ‘Righteous’) as opposed to EXFx . . . . and I definitely see him as being very rational/judging as opposed to irrational/perceiving.

“ . . . . As a sort of reverse Anderson Cooper, there was little about [Gore] Vidal's sex life we didn't know . . . .”
I typed Gore Vidal EIE-Ni, although I’m not 100% sure. Anderson Cooper is EII-Fi, in my opinion.

All the same, I would not rule out IEE-Fi, which is perhaps more likely.
