Can you recommend any? The only one I know of is Paul McCartney. Seems like there are a ton of SEI ones though.

Whigfield is the main one I can think of right now (and with Paul, I had been persuaded that he is a SEI too ).
The usual typing for Paul is SEI, but now that you mention it, ESE does indeed sound more accurate. He's a bit reclusive for an ESE, but he's ridiculously EJ - probably Si-subtype.
Hmmm... Beyonce's type is often debated between ESI and ESE. Most crappy eurobeat is also ESE (Dave Rodgers, NIKO, D. Essex, Hinoi Team, anything that was ever played on Initial D). For music that isn't trash, The Specials are some kind of Alpha SF, I lean ESE.
2-subtype system: IEI-Fe
8-subtype system: D-IEI-Fe
16-subtype system: IEI-ESE
IEI-Fe 2w3 > p6w5 > 8w7 sx/so

Ooh ooh.
Armin van Buuren! Oliver Smith OTOH is SEI I'm thinking.

I don't know, but I really relate a lot to Kelly Clarkson and Beyonce music. . .
Does anybody know if Kelly Clarkson is ESFj? I'd kinda like to know as most of her music [as I said] I relate to.
Food for thought.
Yeah. This song of hers sounds like a page from my diary: .
Funny how starkingly similar people can talk within their personality types. One thing I've noticed is that the more you become aware, the more you can identify a persons type just by the way they talk. Kind of amazing.
Oh, and I just figured out that my sister is ESE/ESFj; subtype - H. So that was really neat.
I've always strangely liked Kelly Clarkson's music, even though it's not remotely the sort of music I usually listen to.
Quaero Veritas.
I agree with Marie that Beyonce is SEE type.

Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?
I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

My guitarist is the most blatant, textbook ESE I've ever met.
Most of the guitarists I've met so far have been Gammas, almost none of which gave a rat's ass about things like playing with feel - they only cared about speed and technique.
He plays a little loose at times in comparison to the Gammas I've worked with, but he makes up for it in passion, plus he's great at getting a rise out of the crowd. But he's annoyingly obsessed with timbre and ambiance ...I've learned a lot of drama is prevented if I don't butt in on his wank-fest (spending hours finding the perfect tone and "feel"). So I just leave all that to him now, even though I'm good at it too.
I'd post a song of ours, but I'd want it to be recent, and most of our stuff online is ancient. Intense LSI singer + bouncy ESE guitarist - probably kind of a unusual combo, but it's been working for us
Post it!
I'm a Gamma guitarist; I played a bit on the stiff side, I didn't give much a damn about the "perfect" tone, just a big and effective one... I used to be really shredder-y, but I'm all about pounding out rhythms and riffs nowadays...
With the Deltas, they cared about "tone" or whatever, whereas I just wanted to roar away and get people moving around; it worked when it was just me and the Si-SLI, but when the IEE entered the picture, things got all slow and mellow and I couldn't light a fire under everything's ass, then it got all mopey sounding, ugghhh...
I drummed for Alphas, that didn't last long I hit like a beast and left them a pocket the size of the Grand Canyon, not sure what else they could have possibly wanted, other than for me to incorporate a bunch of unnecessary crap into my drumkit and for me to hit like a wimp...

Actually Maritsa I kinda think that Beyonce is an estj.
Beyonce always seemed SEE to me as well. *shrugs*

Jennifer Lopez - Papi
Whitney Houston - I'm Every Woman
Marianne Faithfull - Crazy Love
Shania Twain - You've Got A Way
Reinin has Natalia Oreiro as an ESE...I can't remember my opinion but I thought IEE was also a possibility

Any other ideas? Preferably looking for well-known and contemporary artists. Post interviews, not songs please.
edit: going to investigate some people in this thread.
MC Chris is known for aggressive outbursts and harsh treatment of fans, so almost definitely not ESE.

I think Jennifer Lopez is probably ESI:
Whitney Houston, Beta NF:
People usually type Beyonce as Gamma SF, there is a thread about her. Anyways I don't think anyone really thinks she is ESE.
I think you're right about Jessica Simpson. EIE seems much less likely, she seems really laidback.Jessica Simpson is the only one who strikes me as a possible ESE and I think she might be EIE....pretty sure she exudes Fe. Her language, hand movements, facial expression exude her emotions..it's very dominant. Her husband seems like and ISTj and she seems much happier in this relationship he is probably her dual of semi-dual depending on what type of Fe leading she is.
here are a couple interviews(in the last one she is bubbling over in Fe excitement, she can't really contain her emotions)

While we're on 90s pop stars, I also think Mandy Moore is ESE:
I first got tipped off when she was in some movie with Robin Williams way back.
New challenge: ESEs that write their own music
When it comes to creating art, from a Model A perspective it seems that the temporal/auditory arts (movies and music) involve more Ni, and spatial/visual arts involve somewhat more sensing (Beta NFs are definitely attracted to fashion, but it seems more due to the Se). In Model A2 though, the lack of ESE songwriters may be due to the relatively less importance placed on -Fe.
