If you have a sore throat / stuffed up ears / similar:
Mix one part cayenne pepper and one part ginger powder. I store it in one of those little spice jars and keep it in my bathroom near the medicines. Take a pinch or two and sprinkle it into the back of your throat, tilting your head WAY back and aiming for your ear canals if possible/needed. If you don't want your mouth feeling like it's on fire, avoid your actual mouth and tongue... Swallow a few times to get it spread around.

My mother gave me this recipe. She calls it "Blasting Powder."
