Thumbs up Temperaments: IJ appreciation thread

    IJ's are awesome because they're:

    • prompt (well, the Se creatives are at least)
    • responsible
    • self-controlled
    • punctual
    • decisive (well, the Se creatives are at least)
    • self-possessed
    • reliable
    • on top of things
    • responsive (well, the Se creatives are at least... it goes along with being prompt and decisive)
    • consistent
    • stable/steady
    • thorough
    • hot

    It fits me, sort of.

Prompt: usually. Occassionally, I'll run a little late. It's not a big deal to me unless I'm really late, then I feel bad.

    Responsible: yes

    Self-controlled: yes

Punctual: see prompt. How are these different exactly?

Decisive: Yes, I mean no. Wait a minute, I think that's yes. Then again, maybe not. I agree that this is a more Se creative thing.

Self-possessed: Sometimes. I think it's mainly an introvert thing

Reliable: Very. I try if at all possible to do what I say I'll do and feel bad if I can't pull through

On top of things: Depends on the things. On top of meeting deadlines and due dates? Yes. I take those seriously. On top of the latest in fashion? Hell, no.

Responsive: Depends on what exactly and the context of the situation. Not sure how to answer this.

Hot: Unfortunately no. Not type related.

Punctual is being where you're supposed to be when you're supposed to be there. Prompt is responding me quickly, whether it's the response I was looking for/expecting or not... at least I know one way or another. I hate it when things are up in the air.

I think I'm more punctual than prompt. I'm very prompt with somethings, not so prompt with others. For example when responding to someone's emails, I'll sometimes respond within minutes, other times I can take days to get back to someone.

Most of the qualities fit me somewhat but only a couple on there fit me strongly. J is my weakest dichotomy of the four. I identify with the Ip temperament almost much as the Ij one.

Subtype makes all the difference here. C subtypes like me are an exception to this rule.

N subtype = Boring people with a stick up their ass
D subtype = Boring people without a stick up their ass
H subtype = Fun people with a stick up their ass
C subtype = Fun people without a stick up their ass

I added appreciation topics for the other temperaments... just to give other people the opportunity to state what they like most about people of those temperaments. Compatible temperaments (EJ/IJ and EP/IP) are strongly encouraged to participate.

Yah, same here. I think this should also go under "Se Creative IJ's" since LII's and EII's tend to have poor time management skills due to Se PoLR

I don't think these qualities really apply to Ne-IJ.

I'm not too worried about FDG or eunice's feedback on this topic because I don't agree with their self-typings (in spite of the fact that just about every post I see from eunice is trying to convince someone, not sure who, that she is indeed EII).

I had been thinking that FDG could be LSI lately though, but this topic reminded me that he tends to have negative things to say about both the EJ and IJ temperaments. Maybe SLE works best for him after all.

I don't know about all that...

I don't have a regular subtype (dominant vs. creative), and it sounds like a bit too much work to determine whether I have a subtype in this other theory.
