Define "power."
its only a funny vague question..
if there is competition of 16 types..
who is most likely to win ?
who is most likely to lead ?
ESTp
ENFjs are best at leading others through inspiration, followed by ESFps.
ESTps are the best at leading others through force and the aura of their authority.
ENTjs aren't particularly great leaders, but rather are good at directing a group towards a particular end efficiently.
ESTjs aren't really the leader sort.

The person who truly understands power is the most powerful. No type, lineage, financial standing, appearance, or anything else determines it. This is the Information Age. The person who best utilizes information is the most powerful. It's all about knowing what to do and then DOING it.

Power: the ability to get stuff to happen that you want to happen.

My honest opinion?
ESTp.
After some recent events, I'd have to say ENFp, however.

Wouldn't that depend on who is interacting with who? I honestly think that I would perform much better under the leadership of an ESFp than that of an ESTj, for example. And I think that ENFps have great leadership potential, but only with certain types.
And so on.

okay, if "power" means the ability to lead people, then must they know they are being led in order for it to be recognized as power?
It's a silly question, power is too relative in it's applicability. You'd probably have better chances of knowing which of two members of the same type is more powerful. (While actually not having any chances to answer precisely since power is not parallely definable with types.)
I would define power as the ability to cause an event to go as one desires, thus it would seem sensible to conclude that ESTps are the most "powerful."

But influencing an event means influencing people. And I don't think one type can influence all other types equally well.Originally Posted by MysticSonic

But then wouldn't the question be: which type has the most influence in the most amount of circumstances?

Yes, I suppose. But you would have to relate each type to all other types and determine how they influence each other during different tasks. Quite the task...Originally Posted by MysticSonic
And it's probably more complex than that...

The most powerful type? In most cases it would be the Administrator, LSE. There are a couple of other places other types have a certain amount of "power", but in general it would be the LSE.
There's so many angles to power and how people acquire and wield it.Originally Posted by Kim
It may depend on what the situation calls for. In a crisis for example, I can see estp jamming around calling the shots and people following the lead.
When things are stable and steady, probably estj is going to hold the reins and keep things on a stable course - people sensing that this is the kind of leadership which is needed.
Nevermind. I was talking about leadership instead of power.
Although good leaders must be powerful.

Who is the least powerful? PoLR?
Laura
INTj
It would seem so, and with that, INFj would theoretically be the weakest.

That's why they are very good people, because they are virtually powerless.

Some INFjs can be VERY good, stealthy intriguants.

I actually made a mistake; ENFp is the weakest. And for some reason, I sound like I'm being an asshole (feels like I'm being an ass to Topaz but I'm not).

Quit being an ass towards Topaz, Cone.
ENFps are terrible to argue with. Very easy to back into corners.

I'm not the one backed into the wall here.
IEEs are bad to argue with because the have a tendency to accept/agree with everything.
But seriously IEE is not the control freak of Delta. That would be LSE. They might follow LSE. Beta seems to me to be quite controling and so does Gama but a little less so. Basically ExxJ has the greatest control needs and would be seen as the most powerful. SLE would be powerful but I think they would be more concerned with their own interest than the rest of the worlds. IMO

It is true. Hence the term “psychologist” . But don’t worry I personally don’t have an issue with it. In fact I kind of like it.Originally Posted by Topaz

One observation I have made is that quite a few people I know in real life (possibly including myself), often think of their beneficiaries as very weak people.
For most powerful, I would guess ENTp or ESTj.
