    Default What's your overall goal in life

    What does that feeling inside of you lead you? What is it constantly telling you to do? What is your fire, passion, and intensity whispering in you in the most pivotal moments in your life? I believe this is the direction in what you will ultimately go in your life and so do you have a goal you want to accomplish? This doesn't have to be specific, it can be vague as well.

    Possibly, I would like to leave an ever-lasting (positive) mark on the life of humanity. If that fails, idk, leave an ever-lasting (positive) mark in a specific region.

    To balance all karma and end this cycle of death and rebirth.

    Karma from our point of view, is completely self-imposed;
    and is, really, simply the idea of balance,
    of the recognition that, if you do one thing,
    for the spirit, in a sense, to be balanced,
    it must then do something else that represents that balancing act,
    that balancing energy.
    It’s not a punishment issue.
    Nevertheless, it is a balancing act.
    Let’s say you’re about to choose a physical life.
    You may choose to explore certain themes
    so that when you are born Into that life
    those themes will keep cropping up
    and will appear to be something connected to fate or destiny
    because they keep happening
    and there doesn’t seem to be much you can do
    about the fact that those themes
    keep cropping up.
    But, because they keep cropping up what it is doing
    is giving you the opportunity
    to use your free will in the physical reality
    to decide
    how you will engage with that theme,
    what you will learn from that theme,
    how you will explore that theme.
    So, destiny and free will actually work hand in hand together to create an experience for the soul;
    then based on that experience the soul, the spirit,
    will take that experience and decide how it factors into its overall adventure or experience of growth
    and the next thing it decides to do
    will in some way, shape, or form,
    enhance, or balance out,
    what was just experienced,
    and that’s where karma comes in.

    Meh, this is close to what I used to believe when I was part of that group. My ideas have changed quite a bit since then, yet psychic kind of channels, independent of each other, still tell me this is my last lifetime on earth. I knew this when I was a small child even though no one else had said it back then. I am so excited.

    “My typology is . . . not in any sense to stick labels on people at first sight. It is not a physiognomy and not an anthropological system, but a critical psychology dealing with the organization and delimitation of psychic processes that can be shown to be typical.” —C.G. Jung

    Well, you asked...
    I suppose in a way, my overall goal in life is death. Not that I mind life, but it's sort of like standing in line, and I don't even know how long the line is.

    I don't think"What does that feeling inside of you lead you?" is a real sentence, so I'll skip it.

    "What is [that feeling inside of you] constantly telling you to do?"
    It doesn't matter what feelings tell me to do; feelings are untrustworthy.

    "What is your fire, passion, and intensity whispering in you in the most pivotal moments in your life?"
    I'm not intense. I didn't think I was passionate either, but I suppose I can be. About creationism, apostrophes, and hobbits. But creationism, apostrophes, and hobbits aren't whispering to me, and certainly not at pivotal moments in my life. I would say the Bible does, though. And that contains creationism and apostrophes, though no hobbits.

    "I believe this is the direction in what you will ultimately go in your life and so do you have a goal you want to accomplish?"
    I'm not a goal-oriented person. If I know something will happen, I can look forward to it. But the plans of humans fall apart so easily. Why would I bother having any of my own? That would be like spending years adding to a mushroom collection. (Or as Solomon put it, "vanity and grasping for wind.") The direction I want to go is wherever God directs. (And I realize that sounds like one of those cheesy motivational phrases.)

    Find a job that's addictive.

    I tend to be very impulsive and I often find myself going in circles doing the same thing over and over again, like it's automatic. If I could find one such obsession that I liked, was good at, and could make into a career I'd basically dominate at it.

    Something like: don't suck, endure, follow through, put my entire being into things, be present, focus, enjoy the moment, search and seize good opportunities, don't submit to others out of weakness or fear, do not let anger/envy/pride get to me and remain calm and deal with reality as it stands. Mixed with a feeling of most things being boring cheesy bullshit.

    I believe this is the direction in what you will ultimately go in your life and so do you have a goal you want to accomplish? This doesn't have to be specific, it can be vague as well.
    Actually most of what frustrates me is related to people and judgements versus my ability to do some difficult thing. I know with patience and endurance I can master something that is vital and important. People though are free willed and have there perceptions socially of what is valued and worthy. I rarely fit into this category and thus I feel on a daily basis as expendable in the eyes of other people which greatly frustrates me. If I excel I find people envy me and I get hate, if I falter people make no hestitation to jeer me for it. I really want to just enjoy life but I'm stuck with a burden of shitty karma that daily I feel resigned to.

    Inspiring I know. But there's my contribution to this topic.

    When I'm done with it all, have gone to the limit of what I can, the dream is a cabin in the woods. Living there with my dogs, enjoying the tranquility.

    To do something meaningful so that when I die, I'm not just fading away into oblivion.

    I also want to discover the true meaning in life.

    My goal in life: to learn what i came here (to this life) to learn, so I can succeed in my next life (and not have to repeat a similar life to this one).
    I believe this has something to do with gaining focus (less scattered mind), self confidence, and a sense of purpose/will.

    My secondary goals include:
    * exploring things like evolutionary/functional psychology, and how to use those concepts to help us, and those with mental illnesses, in today's and near future's lifestyles;
    * practice and encourage a more peace-inducing and sustainable lifestyle (aka PermaLife, permaculture at the individual level);
    * regain physical health so that I may have more time/energy for the above goals.
