is there a connection between tritypes and wings? for example if a person is 7w8, would both numbers appear in the tritype along with a number from the feeling center?
btw how do you determine your tritype, lol. thanks!

today is a gift, that's why its called the present
I assume so. I have yet to see someone without their wing in their tritype, though if one's type and wing are in the same category their wing wouldn't be a part of their tritype.
Enneagram is split into three sections. Choose which from each section you can identify with most, then order those from most relevant to least relevant. Simplest way I know.
8, 9, 1
2, 3, 4
5, 6, 7
Indeed it is. My apologies, Abbie.

please correct me if I am wrong but 9 and 1 are both in the instinctive center, which means that what i am saying doesn't apply in your case, but rather it would apply to types 1 2 4 5 7 8 because they are on the 'edge' of each center. in your particular case it is not possible to have 9 and 1 in a tritype, i think

It's very much possible to be say.. 4w5 with a 7w6 in your trifix. And no, you can't be a 9 with a 1 fix.
like I said, there is no necessity to have a wing in your trifix. A wing is just a direction your fixation takes. 7w8 uses some 8 methods to reach 7 motivations. a 7w8-8w9fix would use 8 strategies to reach 7 motivations and 9 strategies to reach 8 motivations, but the 8 motivations would be of second priority. 7w8-9w1fix would have no 8 motivations, but would use some 8 strategies to reach 7 motivations.
Fixations are ends. Wings are means.
Your wing CAN'T be in your tritype if its in the same triad, except as the wing of another type.
But, for a certainty, back then,
We loved so many, yet hated so much,
We hurt others and were hurt ourselves...
Yet even then, we ran like the wind,
Whilst our laughter echoed,
Under cerulean skies...
