I have him as ENFp, although ISTp is possible too I suppose.

Also, since when did people stop calling him Apolo Anton Ohno?

Really? I thought he seemed rather emotionally expressive...

The one thing that seems against ENFp for Evan Lysacek is how disciplined he is about practicing. I guess I would find it difficult to be so disciplined. . .that is, unless i were extremely motivated towards some goal--then i would go all out, so yeah. . . actually maybe you're right.

YEah that was the one thing about Apolo that kept me from putting ISTp on him. He's too smiley and emotionally expressive. And he doesn't have the ISTp eyes. . .

He has awesome ENFp eyes instead.

I discipline myself when it comes to studying Japanese. It's probably somewhat easier for rational temperaments to apply themselves like that, but that doesn't mean irrationals can't.

ENFp's do have Fe demonstrative. I feel he is relatively restrained in his Fe even though it's there. OMG, his behavior and what he is saying remind me a lot of myself, yes he's probably ENFp!

From this video IEE does seem more likely, like the part where he talks about needing to be in a certain mood to practice and taking things in the future as they come, which is generally a more "irrational" mindset. Rationals seem a little more prepared and scheduled about these things IME

Yeah I was referring to Ohno too. In the youtube video you posted. I saw some Fe, but nothing overt and INTENTIONAL. More along the lines of what I imagine demonstrative Fe to be. Also getting interviewed for TV would bring out more Fe than in everyday normal interaction, I would imagine.

I feel like White shows more Fe than Ohno actually, no? Especially when he's pumped or after a performance. Nothing out of the ENFp realm though, I would think.

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

yeah I was also thinking Si.

He has many of the same exact facial expressions of my Si ISTp bf, who can also appear outgoing in the way Ohno does. However, it's without that IEE "all over the place" energy, and it appears also somewhat forced, like he's trying to appear energetic, as you see in the video. He needs to try to be that energetic, in a way that White doesn't.

Fi creatives are generally more obvious in their use of Fe than Fe creatives are. An Fe creative can suppress its use if it gets in the way of their Si/Ni.

are we saying Ohno is Fe creative now? I dont understand. . .why are we bringing in Fe creative here?

Like I said, either guy's Fe doesn't seem out of the ENFp realm. My point was that SLI doesn't seem to fit for either one. At least, not in my image of SLIs. Ohno is just too free and natural with the Fe to be Fe POLR. IME, SLIs are brusque in the way they talk. Their reactions of sympathy are brusque in a way that an ENFp would kind of raise an eyebrow at first. I dont know, maybe there's a continuum of this among SLIs.

Also, a lot of things Ohno says also resonate with me (e.g. once he mentioned that whenever he trains too hard, he can't sleep--a problem I have as well. Sounds kind of like Si dual seeking, no?). He also kind of looks like me, as far as facial features go (eyes, shape of smile). Or maybe I'm SLI. . .which has crossed my mind a bunch of times.

I'm not a personal trainer or something. I just don't think that kind of thing only affects IEEs. I have trouble sleeping with or without exercise. Well, yoga helps me sleep better. That's the best medicine I've found for insomnia.

I see what you're saying, but some SLIs are much smoother socially. They aren't all that grunting sort of type (though I know what you mean by that). I think the Te subtypes come across as more brusque as you said, but the Si ones can resemble ISFps at first, as they are more smiley and social.

I mean, who knows, right? But that's just my guess about Ohno.

If you compare him to Ellen (an ENFp), you see he's pretty different from here. This is an old interview and they seem like duals to me

When I used to race, after a hard training session or a race I couldn't sleep. i'd lie in bed dog tired but wide awake, knowing i'd have to sleep, with my lungs burning.

Seems similar thing to others i've spoke to as well.

but be careful, because then IEEs will start trying to interpret the grunts into interesting things you didn't mean. Or the "what are you thinking?" thing lol.

I wonder if it's all the adrenaline. That must make it hard to sleep.

Apparently exercise is good for you *shakes head*

At the risk of being too Tarantino, hah, I know a guy who used to cough up blood after a race.

Anyway, apparently when we exercise, there's tissue in the lungs which aid oxygen transfer, with the increased effort they actually rip, so can cause someone to cough up blood, however the tissues grow back stronger so are more resilient to tearing next time round, hence stronger lungs, improved fitness and stuff. Weird city, competitive excercise.

Ehhh, sorry to thread and post jack, i'll stop it in mo, but I work with an IEE just now and it's somewhat amusing I could well imagine her doing this sort of thing.

She says random stuff like, earlier today, "I'd like to grow my own mint plant herbs, is mint a herb? I didn't want to say it's a herb incase you'll all laugh at me" (referring to group). She also seems to hum random tunes, seemed to be doing the drum roll from the terminator recently. Then asked if her random humming of tunes was endearing, lol. You guys are weirdly awesome, haha. Dunno what she thinks of me, I tend to keep a low profile just now as i'm working with a different group atm, i'll maybe grunt for affect.

Thought about posting about the dynamics of it, there's 8 in it and i've typed 7 so far. Oh wait, sorry, yeah... Alfonso... sorry Alpono, seems SLI I thought. Quite relaxed in the interview I watched that you posted, which may be creating the Si sub type vibe. A relaxed ISTp on a nice comfy couch or chair is a glorious site to behold...i'm sure...
