SLI would be really useful, particularly when I play the classical guitar. They are good at figuring out chord progressions, scales and complicated fingerings.

I think Paco de Lucia is SLI.

In that case change yourself into something other than an easily-butthurt moron. Speaking of which, the only person being anal here is you for histrionically denying labcoat's voice in addressing an obvious identity-related implication of your question's underlying premises.

The people in this forum who actually want to be another type usually try to convince themselves and proclaim to others that they are that type.

    Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Yeah, the SLE's I've run into have dealt with decent - high levels of anxiety, typically. They also care a lot about, and are sensitive to, what other people think (as are ILE's). It's been more than a few times where I've seen these types get severely depressed over how people view them.

You seem to deal with an abnormally high level of anxiety, AL-LIE, so probably alot of people(everyone else) will seem 'tame' in that aspect by comparison.

If I had to pick a type that actually fits the characteristics you mentioned, it would probably be closer to SLI.
    nope you're wrong.

btw all of You are misinterpreting me and its getting annoYing. not saYing SLEs don't deal with inner turmoil. i know SLE's better than anY other type and Yeah they're emotional, very mental, strong people. i've seen them at their lows but its not anxiety that does them in, it's something different. maYBe i'm defining anxiety bY how i experience it, that could be true. but ime they're not ruled bY anxiety when shit gets rough. Yeah inner turmoil but not anxiety. dont feel like explaining this anY further

I think that in so much as values and likes are type related, liking your own type is a tautology. You value what you value and like what you like.
In ideal situation where strengths, weaknesses and values of both types would be equally clear for the person, it would be weird for him to choose different type than his own.

That doesn't mean one cannot appreciate strengths of other types.

I'm thinking life would be a bit easier as an extrovert. Esaman is right that I wouldn't want to significantly change my values or strengths, though, so I wouldn't go farther than ILE.

I would like to be the type of person who is good at putting things together and fixing them. More-so crafting useful things. I would also love to be able to create contraptions like were shown on the somewhat recent crusoe tv series. And I think it would be awesome to have an eye for small details and the fine motor skills to create those details.

Yeah, what you say sounds right. It may not be "anxiety"--not sure what to call it, nor how much of it has to do with E type or just personal differences. But I have seen both male and female SLEs get really wrapped up in circular thinking that closes other people out, and they will start to kind of brood and melt down, and they act like they want or need to be pulled out of it, but then they resist being pulled out, like "forget it, I'm not worth pulling out," or "forget it, you're not worth my emerging for," or whatever, depending on the individuals involved.
LSI: “I still can’t figure out Pinterest.”

Me: “It’s just, like, idea boards.”

    LSI: “I don’t have ideas.”

I dont see the point of wanting to be another type. They all come with their own price and escapades. It's like saying you want to be a different tone of the same rainbow. Oh, what joy. Next, color me purple!

I feel like i am who i am because of the choices i've made. And the choices i've made were based on my notions and thoughts. If i were to change my type, i would also change how i think. And thus, as the person i am, if i was another type, i wouldn't be satisfied with my own decisions. I, in company with my environment and my genetics, have developed me into the person who i have chosen to be. It is my firm belief that we are our choices.

Plus, if i decided to be something else, say my Duel SLE, i would also want to be something else when i'm that type, since my opinions and the way my brain works changes with the type. Nothing will ever be good enough, unless it already is.
