Tell me things more relevant to Socionics. So far I'm leaning toward SLI, but obviously it's an extremely weak picture.

He's into programming, he can't be a SLI!

ISTp-they make excellent programmers...because they are very smart. And some, who are not worried about being an N type can actually embrace their good nature and stop criticizing people and be more helpful, kind, and supportive.

    Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
    Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Yeah! I can see where an SLI might not be on the cutting edge, but pretty good at manipulating the tools he has grasped in programming.

...the, "stop criticizing people and be more helpful, kind, and supportive" may take a little longer.

Sorry to be so personal about it, but he inspires me emotionally.
This is really nice. Heartwarming, even.

I can't narrow it down to a single type, but I would say he's strongly Si/Ne valuing (Alpha or Delta Quadras), and almost as certainly Irrational.

I also lean toward some kind of Feeling type, based on the pictures, but I'm less sure of that. More photos might help.

    indeed, heartwarming

could this be duality? SEI (Chibikeba) and ILE (the guy in question)?

I thought IEE for a moment...but you mentioned that he's socially timid/ not good at reading ppl's trustworthiness, and IEE's tend to be pretty good at that.

    Long-winded ranting about a game....NT?

Doesn't look like he pays much attention to clothing/presentation...which points away from SEI, SLI, IEE, and towards ILE

Although, I admit i'm typing using stereotypes

Heh, I admit I was definitely thinking that too.

"Open-minded" and "very optimistic" are adjectives usually applied to leading- types, and the whole trust issue he has is definitely a point in favor of logic, although it's usually in the context of and . Even so, I'm behind ILE.

I agree with his appearance pretty much nixing SLI, I dont think it's a stereotype--I think Si as a primary function requires it. SLI's carry their bodies very well, with ease and poise, not a bit of clumsiness. They dress informally but whatever they wear looks like a million bucks on them, even torn clothing, probably because they carry their bodies in a way that is too sexy for their clothes . This guy looks clumsy, unkempt (sorry. . .just an observation). He just doesn't have the SLI "look".

p.s. I agree with Pinocchio about the SLI distraction issue; what you wrote rang 100% true ime with an SLI.

He gives compliments easy and is very patient with...well, everyone. He's open-minded and an extreme optimist. I often have to inform him that not all people are worthy of his trust. He's very sensitive though so I'm very careful about how I tell him things like this. There was sadly an incident where he unvaryingly trusted in someone, and I tried to warn him otherwise only for him to end up depressed and disappointed when the person turned out to be a child molester. It was very sad, but thankfully he recovered quickly like a lizard's tail. I kind of admire that aspect of him, because even though we've both been abused in our lives he continues to have faith in humanity.
