Classic... one of my all time favourite songs, ever. Let Down - Radiohead.

BTW UDP, that Deppepe band or whatever is actually quite good -- more info?

implied, really cool Books song... and bionicgoat, ... Cobain is ...

I know very little about Depapepe, it was a result found searching for "instrumental", under playlists.
Their wiki reveals little:

I refuse to even listen to country since I worked with a guy who made me listen to it all night long on nightshifts. I'm sure it's a very nice song (about broken trucks and getting dumped )

lol, i get so much shit from my friends because I listen to hip hop, rap, and country. I love live music though and, for the most part, can listen to anything live.

I've made quite a few friends here in Portland in the Rock n Roll scene since moving here... on a given weekend I can usually find a show or three to check out with at least one or two band members I actually know. Always cool if I ain't got shit to do. I think the closest one to making it big would have to be Western Arial... They're on the brink of going bigtime these days so that'd be cool to say I used to get drunk with them way back when...lol

It's suppose to be about this incident, but is now a popular football anthem :

The "Christmas truce" is a term used to describe the brief unofficial cessation of hostilities that occurred between German and British troops stationed on the Western Front of World War I during Christmas 1914. The truce began on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1914, when German troops began decorating the area around their trenches in the region of Ypres, Belgium, for Christmas. They began by placing candles on trees, then continued the celebration by singing Christmas carols, most notably Stille Nacht (Silent Night). The British troops in the trenches across from them responded by singing English carols.

The two sides continued by shouting Christmas greetings to each other. Soon thereafter, there were calls for visits across the "No Man's Land" where small gifts were exchanged — whisky, jam, cigars, chocolate, and the like. The artillery in the region fell silent that night. The truce also allowed a breathing spell where recently-fallen soldiers could be brought back behind their lines by burial parties. Proper burials took place as soldiers from both sides mourned the dead together and paid their respects. At one funeral in No Man's Land, soldiers from both sides gathered and read a passage from the 23rd Psalm:

The Lord is my shepherd. I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul. He leadeth me in the path of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil.

The truce spread to other areas of the lines, and there are many stories — some perhaps apocryphal — of football (soccer) matches between the opposing forces. The film Joyeux Noël suggests that letters sent home from the war related that the score was 3-2 in favour of the Germans.

^ I watched that documentary about The Who and Jimi Hendrix playing at the same festival - must have been pretty cool (although I can't actually stand listening to Hendrix unless I'm watching him play at the same time ).

Two days have passed
And all I want is to feel better
They won't be back
And a long weekend is coming up
I left the house
It was just to see you
For an hour
Hoping for two

I was short of breath
As I passed the doorman for a second time
And it rained all day
I don't have a raincoat of my own
I then arrived
Ten minutes early with no smokes
And I was broke
Without a smoke

All of the time
I thought I was crazy 'cos you told me so
It was profound
Like the piano I was humbled by
Our tongues may have touched
But all I remember was your nose
And I suppose
Our eyes were closed

Two days have passed
And all I want is gone
For good this time

We've been surrounded
For it was genius
There was no other way
And we know we won't escape
All of our time
Spent on warm and sunny days
From you there's nowhere left
I want to run

Stay
My arms are flailing
Am I a failure
My god the pressure's on
And I still don't have a son
My body's sore from sleeping on the couch because you're gone
These feelings that I have tonight
Waiting for the phone to ring
My stomach hurts, it's tearing us apart

Stay
Stay
There's nowhere left to run
Stay

I get so paranoid
I've got to think of warm and sunny days
Imagining and planning out the course of both our lives
but that is as far
As I am willing to go
Planning out the rest of both our lives
Stay
Stay
There's nowhere left to run
Stay
Stay
There's nowhere left to run
