    Default Right/left confusion test

Do you ever have trouble telling right from left? Many people, even adults, say that they confuse right and left. For example, 71 of 364 (19.5%) college professors and 311 of 1185 (26.2%) college students said that they occasionally, frequently or all of the time had difficulty when they had to quickly identify right from left.
    Test is here https://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/java/hands2.html
Say the directions aloud and write down your times from both tests.

Divide your left/right time with your up/down time to get the result.

I got 2.82. It is a big difference.

I was bad at that when I was young if it was an auditory as opposed to a visual cue. Visual cues were spot-on. I attribute listening skills to Se and visual Ne-valuing.

    I got 1.395

On a different note & subject, when trying 3 "left-brain vs. right-brain" dominance tests in art class when I was 16, my answers were always indicating an even balance between hemispheres.

Yes, up/down was quicker and easier than left/right. I wonder how using arrows instead of hands would compare. Was there a reason they used hand pictures for the test?

    Dividing I get 1.28

The instructions on the site say to subtract, not divide.

I think it is more about body awareness. If one can judge up/down then they probably can tell let from right in terms of external direction. It is far easier for me to label those directions in terms of north/south/west/east.

So, this right/left confusion probably relates to differences in parietal lobe function. People with parietal lobe problems are clumsy with their bodies.

Probably to screw with people using different orientations of different hands. Arrows are more standard.

Susbtraction only anchors to one test setting. Dividing tells us proportional differences which is way more interesting and scalable.

Yeah Se is here (or basal ganglia)

I've known 3 EIEs who take the cake on clumsiness. They probably need their duals to help protect them from hurting themselves.

    Dang you're fast.

So apparently I just have to say which direction is being pointed in and not whether it's a right or left hand doing the pointing...

    16.111 and 32.83 gives 0.49

It's second one (left/right) divided by first one (up/down).
