LIE

LSI.
Tesla is a very beta company.
Can see where the LIE typings come from.
I used to think that he's ILE, but I also think he's LIE now. He's very good at organizing competent teams and then unleashing them to work on his goals. Despite what everyone thinks, he's not really an inventor himself, he's just good at compiling teams of the right people who can carry out his visions and keeping them on task.
Elon Musk is definitely LIE from what I've just read and he VIs as ENTj as well.
after seeing this interview I'd go with LSI-Se sp/sx 3w2 - what stood out was him pointing out historical mistakes that did not preserve some accumulated technical knowledge, and how people need to get together and work to preserve and improve technology against the forces of entropy - an attitude that gets mentioned or alluded to in several places in both EIE and LSI articles
he also vi's ST over NT with that heavy-set serious look, like the guy needs somebody who could lighten things up for him
He strikes me as LIE based on what I've read about him.

I tend to lean towards LIE now.
LSI-Se isn't a bad idea, but he misses agression. No Se there.
For some year now I have had him as being ILI. Why ILI and not LIE? Mostly because of demonstrative Ti. One thing I notice from him is when he get a question or is starting to explain something he get silent for a while and then start from an end which he picks. It is like he is telling a story of logic which lead him to the explanation to why. The character of his Se does not strike me very LIE. And there was one interview he had with an EIE that gave me the supervisor ITR vibes. Whatever type he is a very futuristic guy.
In the Socion the ILI is told of as being the one who collect knowledge of the past to apply it in the now and to the future. Kind of the guy who find pieces and build something with the already known for a long time and make it more efficient and fully optimized.

He has an hidden agenda and clearly values , it's confused for his creative function and hence the mistyping for LSI because he's clearly a logical type. I initially thought he was ILE, but the way he runs the company does show valuing and he operates it in a way that a LIE would, not an ILE. An LSI can be a risk taker like him, but they would most likely take risks with more traditional means, not extraordinary means like Elon Musk is doing, which leans him towards LIE IMO.

I've been following him on facebook for a couple years now. His ex wife is an actor on WestWorld. He posted a video telling everyone to check her out.
Seems like an obvious Ni type, since he makes a lot of predictions about the future, and has acted on his predictions, but Ne types can also make predictions about the future.
He is generally focused on the bright, positive side of the future, so that might suggest that he is a Positivist.
Totally LIE
What the hell looks like LSI in him, I don't know lol.
Improving technology against the forces of entropy & historical mistakes about accumulated technical knowledge, that's completely gamma NT, that got absolutely nothing to do with the Ti valuing of Beta quadra.
No, that's just T lead.he also vi's ST over NT with that heavy-set serious look, like the guy needs somebody who could lighten things up for him
Btw to me personally that photo looks like he's very contemplative Ni-ish.
Nice. Gamma for the win then, yay.

It is super short-sighted of the space heros to say "let government funded space exploration happen exclusively".
In todays era, trips like those planned for Mars would certainly never happen on taxes payers dime alone. It is going to require private, commercial industry to pay for the expenses.
This always happens with older delta STs (such as the videos "space heros", who I also personally admire).----> they get stuck in their Te ways of: "This is the way its always been done and this is the way we are going to keep doing it." Little innovation.

If he is not pioneer LIE, I don't know who is. (I' know very similar person. In away we essentially just tried to understand each other's humor a lot of similarities in terms of potential but went into different directions.)

Good points. Just searched for this thread because I realize I really like this guy. He does do a lot of explaining with Ti but couldn't demo Ne do the same?
. Like Zuckerberg is all about racing ahead full speed with AI and Musk is talking more about the future and the problems it could create. Connecting it to many things. He is contemplative. Zuckerberg is simple compared to him. Musk has such a wider angle. Sees so much bigger. Like he said, I am not prescribing things, I am predicting them. Which almost sounds Fe. There are no personal ethics at all. Zuckerberg is more prescriptive. More activist. Musk is talking logically about things and zuckerberg has a simple appeal to emotion.
I agree with just about everything he says:
I also heard that Se HA upholds obligations. It must. Like people giving people discounts on Tesla cars angered him. Nobody gets a discount. Not him. His family. Or friends. Nobody. And I don't think it is because of greed but fairness. He doesn't seem like Ne ignoring and has servicable Fe. Though Ti ignoring also makes little sense for him. who knows lol

"And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it, and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them."
I can see so/sp, but I thought sp/so since the keywords for sp/so are like, "to conserve" while the keywords for "so/sp" are like, "to use, to exploit." I feel like everything Musk does is for the highest form of preservation possible (from the perspective of a human)--the preservation of the existence of humans. Could also explain why some might see him as introverted too.
Either way, I'll take all the LIE-Te sx-lasts @Myst doesn't want
LSI-Se 9w1 sp/sx
He belongs to the pragmatists club... I agree with LSI-Se, I can't see him at all as Ni creative or an intuitive.

He is clearly Gamma NT. I have heard LIE for him and that sounds about right. His nervousness matches an ILI but he is a bit more expressive, and even LIEs are nervous and can be self-deprecating. He appears to be optimistic about the future, and seems to think a lot about things that could go wrong, technologies that don't work, technologies that could be improved, the rate of improvement in different technologies, and appears to have a good understanding of logistics and how economic processes function, the way the world works (Te)--how he mentions at the end of the first vid that technology does not always improve, if anything its natural tendency is to decay.
Listening to the way he discusses how he sees time in the first video was very interesting for me. I relate to some aspects of how he describes time--probabilities, branching timelines, identifying inevitabilities, and foreseeing potential disaster (i.e. dead ends)--but he is able to see apply it to technology and industry at a very large scale (in terms of rates of production, knowledge generation, etc.) and he seems to be able to very flexibly move from discussing the timeline for a project to discussing the trends of industry and humanity as a whole. He also seems to hedge and prefer non-absolute time estimates for projects, but when he does give them they have been shown to be optimistic. I sometimes get the feeling he knows it will might longer than he says.
When he discussed watching the Falcon Heavy launch & landing, he said he saw everything that could go wrong and was kind of surprised everything worked.
Anyways, be curious to see what y'all think about him from a Socionics PoV.
