    Default Charting Families

I'd like to look for any correlations concerning socionics types within a family. Please list families you know the types of. I'll trust you not to be terrible at typing, which would skew the whole project. If you're not completely sure about someone's type, please don't list their probable type. And if you don't know the types of at least half the family, it probably wouldn't help to list them. I'll start:

    Family 1
    IEE Dad
    SLI Mom
    LII lad
    LSE lass
    SEI lad
    SLE lad

    Family 2
    Dad
    IEE Mom
    LSE lad
    IEE lad
    lad

    Family 3
    ESE Dad
    Mom
    lass
    SEE lass
    LII lass

    Family 4
    EIE Dad
    ESE Mom
ILE lad (not biological to mom)
    IEI lass
    EII lad

    Parents:

    LSI Mom
    Dad 1 EIE
    Dad 2 ILI

Children (in order of age for the ones with types I know but there are other kids (of the EIE), born in between, whose types I don't know. I am sure a couple are logical types but haven't given it much thought)

    Girl IEI
    Girl EII

    Girl ESE
    Boy IEI
    Boy IEI

Conclusion: three ethical and/or intuitive older girls can turn boys IEI

Projection is ordinary. Person A projects at person B, hoping tovalidate something about person A by the response of person B. However, person B, not wanting to be an obejct of someone elses ego and guarding against existential terror constructs a personality which protects his ego and maintain a certain sense of a robust and real self that is different and separate from person A. Sadly, this robust and real self, cut off by defenses of character from the rest of the world, is quite vulnerable and fragile given that it is imaginary and propped up through external feed back. Person B is dimly aware of this and defends against it all the more, even desperately projecting his anxieties back onto person A, with the hope of shoring up his ego with salubrious validation. All of this happens without A or B acknowledging it, of course. Because to face up to it consciously is shocking, in that this is all anybody is doing or can do and it seems absurd when you realize how pathetic it is.

I didn't separate for our different mothers, but both mothers are the same type anyway so it shouldn't skew your results.

    I juat know this:

    My own
    Dad-SLI
    Mom-ILI
    Brother-SEE
    Sister -ESE

    Dad's
    Dad-SLI
    Mom- LSE
Their kids are SLI majority and one ESE

    Mom's
    Father-SLI

Everyone on both my mom's and dad's side were either killed in the Genocide or I have never seen them and therefore can't type them. My mom's dad had one brother but my mom never talks about him and her one aunt is a sensory type probably a merry dichotomy but not a rational type
    -
    Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
    Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE

Father – SLI, Mother – LSE
Me – LIE, married and divorced from SLI, one son SLI.
Sister #1 – LSE, married to male IEI, no kids.
Sister #2 – LII, second marriage to male LSE, no kids.

So, both Sister #2 and I married one of our parents, and Sister #1 married her conflictor. My marriage broke up, and the other two are undergoing a lot of stress. That's why I looked to Socionics (and a few other places) for a better method than the one I have been using for choosing a partner.

Ex-wife SLI has two sisters; sister #1 – IEE, sister #2 – unknown type. All three sisters have been divorced, but Sister #1 is remarried to a guy who is probably an SEI.

    @Director Abbie

Yeah it's confusing. Lots of shit has happened in my family history lol. The relations are all from my perspective outwards, of course. Should be friendly to common sense now, although convoluted.

    Father - SLI
    Me - LII
    Sister - ESE
    Brother - IEI

    Mother's side:

    Father's side:
    Grandmother - SLI
    Grandfather - IEI

    Father's elder sister:
    Aunt - EIE
    Uncle - SLE
    Cousin (girl) - ESE
    Cousin (lad) - IEI

    Father's younger sister:
    Aunt - SEE
    Uncle - LIE
    Cousin (girl) - ESI
    Cousin (girl) - SEE
    Cousin (girl) - IEE

I often hear comments about how my siblings are similar in their behaviour and relationship to my cousins ESE and IEI. No wonder they're identicals.

I haven't included yours yet because it's confusing. Are your great-aunt and uncle married or siblings? Are your cousins male or female? Could you sort them by family unit instead of by generation?

    Default The "Mother's Curse"

I haven't closed this yet, but I wanted to check a theory: the Mother's Curse. This is when someone's mother says something along the lines of, "I hope you have kids just like you so you'll know what it was like to have to raise you!"

My grandmother gave my mom the "Mother's Curse" because my mom's pickiness exasperated her. My mom ended up with me, her mirror, who has the same sort of pickiness, and she doesn't mind.
So, given that identicals and mirrors are most like a person and conflictors and duals are least like them...

Likelihood that a man will have a child much like him: 18.2%
Likelihood that a man will have a child entirely unlike him: 10.1%
Likelihood that a woman will have a child much like her: 22.3%
Likelihood that a woman will have a child entirely unlike her: 6.1%
Hypothetical chance it would be expected to be: 12.5%

You know what? You're an individual, and that makes people nervous. And it's gonna keep making people nervous for the rest of your life.
