    The Limits of Introspection

While trying to decipher the reasons behind certain behavior often leads to confabulation, focusing on our immediate emotional reactions instead may serve us better in our quest for self-knowledge, as they are often a more direct reflection of actual attitudes. In the process, we should also be open to inconsistencies between our gut feelings and our preconceived, and seemingly rational, notions.

This is the expression for how I'd probably feel if I saw someone who looked too much like myself in a painting. I can't imagine it'd be that flattering. I mean really:

"I'm the first one by a couple hundred years! You get out!"

If paintings see us, are we their doppelgängers and that's how they died?

Which city has the best climate in the world?

Warm-summer Mediterranean climate (Csb) seems better to me than Hot-summer mediterranean climate (Csa), so I probably differ slightly from this ranking.

Why Are So Many Poets Also Artists?

"I guess, for all my work, I’m doing it for myself but with the explicit hope that other people will see it and maybe someone else will identify with it. Also for the money."
