Thread: Hello.

    Default Hello.

Hello, everyone. I'm from Texas, but I really don't like the culture here.

I find it frustrating that everyone is expected to drive a car, which I can't really do... my reflexes are too poor and I can't deal with that level of concentration.

I also dislike the competitive, arrogant attitudes around me. The way everyone is so tough-minded and demanding, the tendency to expect you to be willing to do whatever it takes to get ahead, to make a job the center of your life.

I think there have to be better places to live in the world, and I honestly feel a little restless. But what really keeps me here is my parents/family... it would be pretty hard for me to deal with being on my own. I'm not the most independent person in the world, nor am I particularly good at making friends.

Dontcha know the squeaky wheel gets the grease?

    Hi
I feel a little strange welcoming you here when I only just got here myself but my desire for integration got the best of me.

    Hi there, Aylen!

Yeah, I suppose I have been a little quiet. It's not that easy for me to initiate conversations. Don't worry, I don't think it was strange at all.

    You're finding these attitudes here?
    -
    Dual type (as per tcaudilllg)
    Enneagram 5 (wings either 4 or 6)?

I'm constantly looking to align the real with the ideal.I've been more oriented toward being overly idealistic by expecting the real to match the ideal. My thinking side is dominent. The result is that sometimes I can be overly impersonal or self-centered in my approach, not being understanding of others in the process and simply thinking "you should do this" or "everyone should follor this rule"..."regardless of how they feel or where they're coming from"which just isn't a good attitude to have. It is a way, though, to give oneself an artificial sense of self-justification. LSE
