I've noticed I have had this tendency and pleasure in trying to predict future trends and what fun ideas it may hold. I feel like this observation of trends and so on seems very am I wrong?

I suppose, both Ni and Ne are involved, as it's stated in the article futurists think about what is possible as well as what is probable. I understand when you work as a futurist you're mostly involved with economical trends and the stock market. Though some of them are involved in the creative process of science fiction movies such as "Minority Report" - I know futurists designed the technology that is part of that future world. That would be fun, indeed.
