I have pretty dead looking eyes. Kind of hate it. A frown, scowl, or intent look usually lessens the effect some.

I had an acting partner once, a former classmate of mine. Wonderful, beautiful actress, though I did have to help her remember to use her forehead muscles. Those forehead muscles really help.

I have seen people with dead eyes before... quite frightening... you don't know what to expect, they are completely unpredictable.
Saying that though, most of above seem not to have dead eyes to me... but...maybe I'm doing it wrong. Or it's subjective.

Does anyone know why these people have unfocused eyes and what does that mean? I understand if people are in a trance, they would look unfocused, but their facial expression suggest that they aren't in a trance. Have they zoned out and retreated to their mind while keeping their polite social smile? Or are they trying to be hypnotic by making it look like they are looking past you?
