    Default Extroversion/Introversion and Fidgeting

Wikisocion mentions how EP and EJ are inclined to fidget. Would you agree?

If not, what do you think makes a person inclined to fidget?

Yes, but I'd say that Eps alternate between being completely relaxed/lazy and fidgety. Just depends on their internal state, I guess?

I, for one, can't sit still for longer periods of time. Have to get up and do something, doesn't matter what, as long it "works" and offers some kind of relief/release, I'm all for it.

I do fidget at times and I do think I'm an extraverted type regardless of the fidgeting. I can be totally passive, then get restless but I don't have to get up even then...I can keep myself busy on the computer doing stuff, including just posting in this forum haha.

also, if I'm in the middle of doing something but am stopped and have to wait before I can go on with it, I will fidget. I don't like to be stopped before I get to my goal.

I could see it in EJs, since they have a need to be doing stuff. It's not Extratim-exclusive, though.

I'm fidgeting right now. A couple of EJs that I know I can't recall to be especially inclined to fidget, may be even less frequently than me.

I would say that those who score higher on Big 5 Neuroticism factor may be more prone to it.

oh that one is interesting. I score pretty low-ish on neuroticism. anyway I do fidget less than my partner, he has to have something in his hands or something he can play with all the time. he's extratim type too. and I'm pretty sure he scores even lower on neuroticism otherwise.

me too. I have an oral fixation. I like to suck on candies, gum, I move my tongue around in my mouth, etc. I chalk this up to the fact that a) I wasn't nursed as a kid and b) my mom took my bottle away long before I was ready.

I fidget constantly. I'm always playing music in my head, and I'll tap out the rhythm with my hands or tap my feet, lol. Right now I'm foot-tapping Mozart's Eine Kleine Nachtmusik.

I'm fidgety as hell. It makes this Fi-ISFj friend of mine very uncomfortable, lol. He's always trying to get me to relax but it's just how I am most of the time.
