I can't upload avatars or change the name of the old account. I don't know whether the accounts functionality was taken away or if the site is failing.. either way I don't want to deal with it, so activate this one and delete the old one.

Unfortunately, you are still considered a Moderated User, and until a decision is made to make you a standard registered user, those privileges will not return.
