I could certainly see it. He reminds me of an LII I went to school with.

It seemed like he was trying to use , but did so rather inexpertly (in the way he modulated his tone to emulate emotion, for example). He seemed more adept at using (in the jokes he made), but it was overshadowed by his weak (in his occasionally poor delivery). Also, the way he said "I'm sorry" frequently is suggestive of -role (or being Canadian).

Interesting. What do you have in mind as a benchmark of good/expert usage?

    This:

I think the reason you perceived him to be a douchebag was because of his inflection; it's not so much what he said, but how he said it (weak gave his comments a strained, somewhat unnatural quality at times).

I can see the . Lots of random associations and awful puns, right? Anything else?

Sounds like a more Fe-bent alpha NT, ENTp seems good atm. They seem to be the kinds who make Let's Plays anyways.

I know Alpha humor when I see it, and I just saw it

One of my school's lunch tables was like this all the time, I recall this incident where an ILE stood on a chair, turned bright red, and tried bringing on the in a really awkward manner (just like the video dude) by singing a song and waving his arms around; he proceeded to get pelted with food from almost every angle

When I was cleaning counters at McDonalds, I overheard someone who was unmistakeably Alpha quadra, and he talked and made jokes in almost the exact same manner, when he went on and on about taking RAM from a workplace somewhere

This kind of stuff was everywhere at my old Magic: the Gathering/Dungeons and Dragons place, and it was always Alpha (which could explain why they facepalmed at my antics so much )...

I'm gonna go ILE; Alpha's a given, but ILE due to his uncanny similarity to the ILE I knew who stood on the chair at the lunch table, and a lot of other ILEs I met, he falls in there with the ILEs, so that's what I'm going with

i don't see what's so upsetting to people about this person, and I don't really get why he's ile. the biggest thing that stands out to me is his ability to rapidly shift to narrative details happening in the moment.

iles are horrible narrators because their first instinct is to try and relate every detail to a general systematic framework, and are more comfortable explaining the system rather than hover over details:

"oedipus is about hubris. the end", etc.

interestingly, a lot of his commentary is him reinterpreting dialogue or events in the game by adding his own expressive emphasis, which is NOT an easy activity for an alpha nt. seriously. iles have in their suggestive block, not in their creative block, and aren't generally confident supplying their own unique brand of .

i don't understand how people here think iles are all about while they themselves shy away from assigning the same level of confidence to their own suggestive function.

    agree with jxrtes.

    alpha identification 101:

alpha NT: focuses on WHAT s/he says and the reasons for saying it
alpha SF: focuses on HOW s/he says it and what doing so achieves

I don't think that's necessarily the case. As an Alpha NT, I'm fairly confident that what I'm about to say is reasonable, so I focus on how to say it. In general, one may either focus on playing to one's strengths or on shoring up one's weaknesses; I don't think the choice one makes is type-related. I agree, however, that Alpha SFs are more adept at saying things in the correct way to produce the desired effect, which is why the person in the video is clearly an Alpha NT.

you seem like a very typical example of a person who focuses overwhelmingly on what he says. nothing you ever posted here contradicts the trend i line out. stop implying that no 100% this 100% that division means no trend at all. it's terrible reasoning and a waste of my time to respond to.

Naturally, I tend to focus more on the logical content of my posts online than I do the logical content of my sentences in person. When I talk to somebody, I am concerned with mood, intonation, my interlocutor's body language, etc.; however, none of these exist online. Moreover, when engaged in a debate rather than a meandering conversation, what I say becomes more important to me than how I say it. However, I'm not nitpicking -- that annoys me as much as it does you. It is simply not apparent to me that there is any correlation whatsoever, no matter how slight, between Alpha NTs and Alpha SFs on the one hand, and a focus on (as opposed to adeptness at) content and style on the other. And if there is a correlation, I'm not sure in which direction it would go. You seem to be assuming that if somebody is strong in a particular area, he will focus on this area to the exclusion of his weaknesses, and I agree this is a possibility. But you exclude the possibility (which seems to me equally likely) that if a person is weak in an area, he will expend more effort to "hide" this weakness from other people than he will to puff up his strengths.

Evidently, we've misunderstood each other's points. I'm saying that one's strengths and one's focus need not be aligned; my post supports this view rather than blowing it out of the water. (If you mean that my post was excessively reliant on , thereby disproving my claim that I focus more on and , you've misconstrued my argument.) In contrast, you contended that one focuses mostly on one's strengths (e.g., an Alpha NT is wont to focus on the and content of what he says), although I may have misinterpreted what you meant. If my interpretation is correct, your point has hardly been made.

He seemed mostly Jungian Ne with how he talked about and played the game. So I thought about whether or not he seemed to use more impersonal Ti or personal Fi. Then I thought about which benefit ring he would belong to and LIE<-IEE->ESE made a lot more sense than EIE<-ILE->LSE. Since he probably wasn't neurotic, IEE coming off as ESE seemed most likely since he wasn't very impersonal Ti either. And none of the other benefit rings made any sense to me.

Edit: You could contrast him with AVGN that fits the ILE benefit ring better.

I can't believe people still try to argue with the SEI typing, myself.

Or even try to type me as a non-Alpha. That's the most unbelievable. I'm Alpha as fuck.

as for a reason to prefer ESE, there is your (ongoing ?) lifestyle conflict with galen and thepirate: IEE (?) and IEI (?), respectively, which might be better explained via supervision relations.
